He's visiting Northwestern Sept. 26th and Stanford Oct. 3rd. Any idea if we are going to visit out of him?

What I know is that Stanford has its main target as a 6'6 SG from California and a 6'4 SF from the Northeast. W.Sheehey is a fall back position in the event they don't get either. I don't believe they will offer quickly which will then allow more teams into the recruitment.

Ok that's what I thought, because in the Scout article it said that his dad played for SU and made no mention of Bonas.

In addition to being a dead-eye gunner, Mike Sheehey was a marketing genius, selling $5 tee shirts (sloppily and hastily constructed from 29 cents worth of rayon tulle from Belize) to most of the campus population in advance of the Syracuse game one year.

There have been many "Marketing gurus" on campus over the years! Bob Keilman and Steve Emr began the "Brown Berets"in '67-'68. Everyboby - I mean everybody, on campus bought one and wore it to every game during that year. Danny "Mons" Monaghan later started the "Key Club" with an assist from Paul McQuade and some others that turned into one of the best rackets ever on campus. These were but two of the many I remember from my tenure there.

If my memory serves me correctly, Mike had a younger brother who was outstanding, and the feeling was that he would join Mike at Bona's. This never happened, as I believe he was recruited by the ACC and went to Virginia (not sure of that). Can folks on the board validate and correct? ??

I answered my own question statsheet.com/bhsb/players/tom-sheeheyI hope we get Will, but history of father/sons or siblings going to Bona's has not been good. Then again there were the Stiths, and of course the Burnetts (Mike and Don). Can anyone think of others......

This never happened, as I believe he was recruited by the ACC and went to Virginia (not sure of that). Can folks on the board validate and correct? ?? His brother was Tom Sheehey, who was a big time recruit. Tom even listed the Bonnies as a team he was considering. Rumor was Mike Sheehey guaranteed his little brother was coming to Bonas. So much for the rumor Tom went to Virgina. Bonnies recruited a couple more high profile recruits that year. Dave Popson's dad was a star football player for the Bonnies. It was controversial at the time, as Bonas inducted him into the school's hall of fame the same year they were recruiting his son. It did not help, Dave Popson signed with North Carolina. The third high profile recruit was John Bowen. He was from Warren Pennsylvania about an hour from Bonas. He signed with Notre Dame. Here is Hoopscoop's ranking of them. Dave Popson #7, Tom Sheehey #8 and John Bowen #98. Doubt the Bonnies ever recruited three higher ranked players than the 1983 class. www.hoopscooponline.com/members/all-starsportsreport.html
