A month and 10 days in between home games is rough...

The women's team played on the road a lot. Being road warriors is going to be a Bona tradition.

Season ticket holders are suppose to be happy with this schedule? 6, 5, and 6 are the Bonnies out of conference home game for the last 3 years. And this year we get 3 OOC games in the Reilly Center.

Yes, it is a very good schedule but only 11 home games.

While I like the quality of our opponents, I have to agree with you Chuck. 3 OOC games at the RC is pretty rough for season ticket holders. Not to mention one of those 3 is during winter break, so no students. Really eats away at our home court advantage. I'd hope they at least lower the prices for the season tickets.

Don't they only charge for season tix based on the number of games? I'd like to see more home games as well, but if season ticket prices are based on the number of games, they will in fact be less.

I have not heard if the ind. tix for sale will go up or not, but I do know that season tix holders in certain sections of the "Blues" and "Red Seats" are getting hit with an increase to their contribution to the BAF. $5oo-$25 depending on where you sit. Also the hall of fame passes are going up as well. Viewed the letter that was sent out by Watson and Im sure it will raise some eyebrows....the complaints will be rolling in soon!!

I had been considering upgrading my seats by making the larger BAF contribution this year but it's just not worth it with only 3 OOC home games. This is a tough one for Schmidt and Co. They're trying to build a quality schedule but have to do so by entering into tournaments and playing home games far, far away from the Reilly Center. I suppose I really won't care about all that if we come away from these games with a some big wins.

I agree with all the above. Season tickets holders and fans are getting cheated with so few out of conference games. We have one game at a neutral site, the St. John's game in Rocherster. As I have stated in the past I am opposed to playing "neutral/home games" in larger venues such as Rochester and Buffalo. Lets bring these games to Olean. I am willing to pay more for quality opponents to come here.
I am sick and tired of hearing about how difficult it is to travel to Olean in the winter. That is complete and total bullshit! It is no more difficult traveling to Olean in the winter time than traveling through a snow storm in Buffalo. Do I hear people complaining about traveling in Buffalo?
For what it is worth I read an article in the USA Today a few weeks back while I was in the hospital about the Syracuse football team playing a home game or two in the Meadowlands. I can't remember the specifics but it was a quality opponent that the faithful Orange fans would love to see at home. Many Syracuse fans are opposed to playing games away from the Carrier Dome.
I will stand behind what I have said in the past:
1. Don't play "home" games at neutral sites. We play them at the RC or we don't play them at all. 2. If money is the issue than I am willing to pay more for quality games at the RC. I am willing to spend more money for Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, DePaul, etc. than for Belmont Abby's of the world.

This thread is full of great ideas! Decreasing ticket prices and BAF contributions is exactly what the program needs! After all, we are already the lowest budget program in the A-10. Having an even lower budget would be just wonderful. It'll send the right message to our AD, coaching staff, players and recruits. Let's whine and just post criticism to this Board and keep our wallets shut tight. That will lead to success, right?
Please grow up.
If we on this Bonas and basketball obsessed Board don't see the necessity to support the program financially in order to complete the turn-around and get other teams to want to come an play a high quality game in the RC, I don't hold out much hope for the school to convince other alums and fans.

If its difficult bringing home games into the RC...do we consider going back to home/home games with Niagara & Canisius ??

What year are you people living in? This is an excellent schedule. The days of having 15 or 16 home games is over unless you want to play Scranton,Alfred U, and Buff State. Look at the old schedules that is how we got so many home games playing non d-1 programs (Anybody else remember the Walsh College game) We have to schedule like this. The BTI classic has three good games against programs that we want to be comparable with. Only 1 home game when the students aren't there is great. Playing a game in Rochester very smart. Exposure to prospective students anyone ? We did this in the late 70's with Notre Dame (if Waterman isn't hurt we win that game) and Marquette (seeing a young Doc Rivers play was fun). The only thing I would start is a home and home with UB. I was a snob at first and didn't want to play them, but they are a decent MAC program and would be worthwhile to play now. Start it at UB this year and then when we alternate with Canisius we will be guaranteed one game in Buffalo a year and play one in Rochester EVERY YEAR. Watson and Schmidt are doing a great job. Olean is often plagued by small time thinking and that is what much of this criticism is.
