bona is not the most diverse place in the world ,and the surrounding area doesn't offer much for kids with an urban background and sensibility. I disagree. Bona offers plenty (great education, wonderful Franciscan caring community, beautiful campus and area, bmoc status for ballplayers) for any kid, including those "with an urban background and sensibility". I was a Bronx kid and I loved the school. My parents wanted to get me away from the City. A lot of recruits parents will feel the same way. If a kid wants to go to a school in an urban area, Bonas is not the place for him. Maybe Williams wants to attend a school with a 'city' campus, like St. John's (yuch !) If that's the case, then Bonas doesn't fit the bill. We all know the countless jewels Bona's has to offer, but that's not what towniegrad is contending. Just because you or anyone else is looking to get away from NYC doesn't mean one is not looking for a place with diversity. And just because he's not looking to study in a city doesn't mean that's not what he's looking for, as evident by his forthcoming trip to Happy Valley, which is apples & oranges to SBU, but is a non-urban campus of diversity, nonetheless. Is this what Williams is saying, who knows? Could he be beating around the 'diversity' bush, certainly.
