You are right. What about the other 39 minutes? How about the runs both of those crucial turnovers led to? Did those only take a minute each to execute? Did we not go from down two to down eight directly following like I already talked about? Not to mention the Ogo turnover led directly to Andrew's fourth foul. I'm not saying the point guards caused us to lose this game, but if you think our point guard play is acceptable, I have ocean front property to sell you in downtown Allegany. A point guard is suppose to control the game. Take a guy like Jon Hall aside and tell him to slow down when he's totally out of control and shooting corner 3's. Make sure a guy like Chris Matthews is getting good looks when he is unconscious from the outside. Make sure Andrew Nicholson gets touches when he's on the floor. Right now, we don't have a guy that can do that and it's getting tiresome. Ok Ham.

We would have had to of won by 15 to eak out a 2 point win with the decided homecourt advantage by Illinois St. They put our best player on the bench for over half the game and win by 2 points. This was an impossible W for us and unfortunately is part of college basketball. We came away with 2 w's and showed tremendous heart in our loss. To start to nit pick about the guard play or every missed shot is very unfair to the players who laid it all out on the court yesterday. I believe that this game will pay dividends down the road for our team as we get ready for league play. I have seen many questionable calls go our way at the RC and never heard the complaints I am hearing here. Should have been a W but we are 4-2 and look like we are more than a one dimensional team. On a neutral court we win by 20. I went out on a limb with my prediction of 20+ wins before the season but am feeling better about it after this weekend. Mississippi State will be another tough road game but am hoping Andrew has a chance to display his game.

Yesterday was an example of why bigger programs do not want to come to the RC.
Some thoughts:
-Eleby played pretty well in my opinion as he is one of our top 5-players and has Coach's trust and support. Will he use this game as a springboard for some solid play much like he did last year.
-Simmons seems to have an easier time than DCook in grabbing rebounds and converting the easier low post shots ..... will his playing time start to increase as he gets more comfortable?
-what is the status of Roseboro's shoulder? is he still wearing the harness? If Simmons becomes a low post option will that increase the chances that Brett is redshirted?
-Davenport seemed to disappear for long amounts of time, as I didn't hear his name too often.... the combination of our leading scorer and 4th scoring option with such little production shows how tough the other players were and how commendable it was that we hung around to the end.
-Will we be able to snag a victory in one of the remaining OCC games we are suppose to not win? plenty of opportunities left: Miss State, Syracuse, Niagara, Marshall .... all on the road! pretty confident that our remaining home games will result in Victories but the OCC schedule will be judged a success based on if we can upset at least one of those away games .... dare I say 2?

Brett was not wearing a shoulder harness. As Coach said it's tough to overcome the foul disparity with Andy on the bench for all but 15 mins. Andrew's only score was a 17' J. The inside was taken away from him. Michael had a poor game. He could have been the difference maker. I like bigdopper's perspective on the game. Agree with the questionable calls West End Stench points out. I would add the charge on Cook as he drove the left side. Wonder why Conger never saw the floor. Too bad this loss minimizes the great game that Chris played: 28 pts on 8/11 treys, 4 boards, 2 As/2 TOs. The Red Birds sent everyone after him to cover him like a glove. Made some treys with defenders in his face.

When your best player scores 2 points and you only lose by 2 you have to be encouraged by the overall play of this team. Andy scores 10 and we win. I expect 9-4 OOC play and an outside shot at 20 games. This is a good team.
By the way - for any of you degenerate gamblers - the Bonnies have covered every game.

SBU lost the game. If they played better, they would have won.
Good question on Conger. He went from 15 minutes to 6 to zero? Hope nothing serious.
GO MALCOM !!! BEAT MISSISSIPPI STATE

Does he play over Hall or Matthews yesterday? The answer to that question is no. That is why he wasn't getting minutes Matthews was on fire. He kept Bonas in the game

Niagara plays at Ill State on Dec 13th.....while we play at Niagara on Dec 22nd.
It will be interesting to see how Niagara's game turns out.
Sagarin has Niagara ranked 121 and Bonnies 122 so it will be quite interesting indeed.

My brother and I saw the game Saturday night and left very encouraged. I liked the defensive intensity and unselfish play. Schmidt is doing an excellent job at molding a solid team, if not program. There was something I liked about each player that saw the court. It was the first time we saw Malcom play, and we could not understand why anyone could be down on this guy. He plays good defense, he's tough, handled the ball well and he is only 6 games in to his junior year! This team should be in every game and will win their fair share. They are buying in to Schmidt's system.

my buddies and I had just gotten back to campus yesterday and decided to buy the video feed. I hate Gary, but he was a pleasure compared to the Ill St. announcers.
The refs were awful as everyone said, touch fouls left and right early on that allowed Ill st players to drive to the basket with ease later on in the game because our players were scared of fouling them.
I thought eleby and hall played horrendous. Both of their shot selections were just atrocious. Big step back for Hall. LumsdnA10Academc98 texted me after the game and said Hall just looked like stereotypical JC tansfer and not the senior leader we need, and I agree.

If I'm not mistaken this was a classic "pipe job" for the home team. It'll toughen us up for the coming season.

As for Hall, I have questioned his shot selection now and then, as well. However, I don't think one should complain too much. He is shooting 62.7% from the floor so far this year, good for 3rd in the A-10, so the selection overall must be reasonable. I think you can take positives from Eleby's performance yesterday - defense, 14 points, 9 boards, 7-8 from the line. The Illinois State announcers were commenting on the size and strength of the Bona guards. They faced adversity in a hostile environment. Perhaps, given the circumstances, they tried to do too much on the offensive end. They came up a little short. I think it'll be a good learning experience as this team learns how to be a winner.

Did they award 2nd place trophies? If so, are they stored in the same vault that has the 1972 USA Basketball silver medals?

[/quote]STUD & LUMS, interesting thought and I pretty much agree with this, however, a question I have for you following this logic, does this mean you will be expecting more from HORACE MCGLOSTER when he is a senior? Or are you expecting more from a 4th year senior?

He is not a JUCO transferring into our program.
