1. The officiating was a joke...Illinois St w/something like 24-25 more free throw attempts than the Bonnies... Were the officials serious or what? How does that happen for gods sake? 2. Chris finally shot like they said he could and good game by Eleby 3. Andrew on the bench for 25 minutes plus....only way Ill State wins game 4. Gary Neese could be WORST announcer of all time...does the guy have a pulse? 5. Davenport still to raw too much of the time

I believe this is one of the all time HOME JOBS!
This officiating crew should be reviewed by the NCAA. Home team has 40 Free throw Attempts. Visitors 15.
Three key visiting players fouled out ,and 2 others with 4. WOW!By taking Andrew out of the game they new it would alter the balance of the game.
I don't mind loosing, but let it be done on the floor by the kids not a biased officiating crew. Even the worst crews know that there is so much they can let go and try and keep the pace of the game fair. This is a new one on me. I've never seen or heard anything like it.
Redbirds... any interest in a rematch in the Reilly Center next year? I didn't think so.
Great effort by Chris Matthews who has been sadly maligned on this board. Let's all hope that this is a great confidence booster for Chris the rest of the year.

As previously indicated one might question the fact we shot better from the line, yet outscored from the stripe by 16. There were 2 fouls on Andrew that were particularly BAD. However the Red Birds prepared very well to take him out of the game & I was very impressed with their 2 big men. Liked Ogo’s play at the end, making thing’s interesting. In 6 mins he had 8 points shooting 3-3, 1-1 treys & 1-1 FTs. Gotta love Chris’ performance. Too bad Davenport had a poor game or else this might have been a very nice road win in spite of Andy being a non-factor. Red Birds are very tough to beat at home. The outcome would be very different at the RC

This game was decided last night after Andrew embarrassed another opponent by dominating with ease. No way that was going to happen to the home team. If I'm not mistaken, three of his five fouls came away from the ball. What a joke. The free throw disparity is mind-boggling.
We still turn the ball over way too much. Both PG's played well in spots, but both turned the ball over in key situations that added to Illinois St momentum. That cannot come from the point guard position. I thought Hall played sloppy and took some putrid shots as well.
The effort was there but moral victories are a thing of the past. We need to start finding ways to win these games, taking care of the ball and not getting caught up in the tempo that the other team wants to play. Miss St will be another tough test, hopefully Andrew won't walk into the gym with two fouls already waiting for him.

If anyone thinks Gary is bad try the Ill. St announcers out. They were rooting for bad officiating

The point guards only had a total of 6 turnovers. I wouldn't pin much on them today. It's true, the team needs to take better care of the ball. Bonnies had 19 TOs to 10 for the Redbirds. But, this game was decided by whatever reason the Bonnies committed more fouls than Illinois State.

Each point guard made a crucial turnover in allowing the deficit go from either one or two into about six or seven. Ogo's turnover at half court which lead to him pretty much getting benched for the rest of the half and Malcom's carry. Sorry, good point guards don't do that. There is also zero leadership from that position.

Outrageous officiating The 3 refs: Verne Harris, Daniel Chrisman, Charles Robinson Harris is rated as a 2-star official; Chrisman is a rookie D-1 ref this season; Robinson is a 4-star ref Check their numbers here: statsheet.com/mcb/referees/verne-harris

Point guard play certainly lacked luster today, but probably wasn't the reason SBU lost seeing that both had their best games of the season so far. Ill. State took full advantage of our weakened interior with good offensive rebounding from their bigs, and quick guards that could take it to the hoop.
That being said, after watching the game it's hard to overlook some of the officiating that took place today. The free throw differentials (15-40?!), the off the ball fouls, the failure to call a 10-second violation (despite a shot clock reading "24"), layups being swatted away as they they were on their way down, and time outs being called with a loose ball were more than enough to spoil this afternoon's game for me. It probably sounds like sour grapes but if Nicholson is allowed a reasonably called game then we would have been watching a completely different ball game. Nicholson's 5 fouls in 15 dispersed minutes of play is unheard of.

Did those only take a minute each to execute? Did we not go from down two to down eight directly following like I already talked about? Not to mention the Ogo turnover led directly to Andrew's fourth foul. I'm not saying the point guards caused us to lose this game, but if you think our point guard play is acceptable, I have ocean front property to sell you in downtown Allegany. A point guard is suppose to control the game. Take a guy like Jon Hall aside and tell him to slow down when he's totally out of control and shooting corner 3's. Make sure a guy like Chris Matthews is getting good looks when he is unconscious from the outside. Make sure Andrew Nicholson gets touches when he's on the floor. Right now, we don't have a guy that can do that and it's getting tiresome.

For Christ sake, leave Gary alone, been listening to him for 10 years and he does an alright job. WTF do you expect. Of course he's lost at times but you try to cover a college hoops game it can't be easy they are 6'7-6'9 and are built the same, good luck with that Oh ok.
