Dunga - Is that a guess? If we landed Baldonado, it would be an absolute steal. He was the 43rd ranked senior in HS in 2004. Pencil 15 points and 10 rebounds into the nightly box score it that's true. Forget marching forward, we'd be sprinting.

Stuard Baldonado would be an absoulte steal and him alone changes the entire presence of our lineup. Not sure if this is a dream or how accurate this is but I have been a Bandwagon regular since around its inception and JAC and Dunga have been reliable recruiting sources. Think of our lineup wiht Baldonado. Starters: P. Williams Baldonado Lee Relph Calvin Bench: Hawkins Ferreti Morris J. Williams Diggs Benson Foote Kovacevic Fox That has the makings of potentially being one of the top teams in the A-10. Of course, I won't get TOO excited until a NLI is signed and he actually shows up on campus and if he does stays out of trouble along with the rest of the team. Cautious optimism as they say!

Closer to a guess, sorry to say. What I do know: 1. He is one of maybe a handful of higher rated JUCO PF/C still available. 2. He visited Duquesne, so he's not afraid to take a chance on a (non BCS) program in shambles with a new(er) coach, and he might be looking to sign at the A10 level. 3. The coaches spent some time in Florida recruiting. I wish I had more to add. We shall see.

Stuard Baldonado, a 6-foot-7 big forward from San Andres, Colombia, The Winchendon School and Miami-Dade College visited Duquesne and new head coach Ron Everhart last weekend. There were two other schools he was set to visit but one has stepped back.
The Kansas City Star reports Saturday that Kansas State is no longer interested in Stuard Baldonado. This past Wednesday, K-State signed 7-foot-2 Jason Bennett from Arlington Country Day H.S. in Jacksonville, Fla. This fall, the Wildcats signed 6-foot-8 Kenny Williams from St. Petersburg College, also in Florida. The Wildcats have one scholarship left at this time. Baldonaldo averaged 18.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 2.2 steals and 1.9 assists as a sophomore at Miami-Dade. He shot 61.6 percent from the floor and 57.7 from the free throw line and was named to NJCAA All-Region VIII first team.
His list of schools, which includes 13 programs, is apparently down to four: Duquesne, Hofstra, Oregon State and UTEP.
Baldonaldo had committed to Northeastern (and Coach Everhart) out of high school but needed to go the JUCO route.
The Duquesne program had one Miami-Dade grad within the last few years: Martin Osimani who is also a South American native, from Uruguay.
This gives Duquesne some good signs with

Stuard visited Oregon in the fall, Hofstra, Duquesne April 7th & will be at Texas El Paso this week end. Stuard with Michael & Paul would give us a remarkable inside game. He will rely heavily on the advice from Butch Estes & Art Alvarez. I'm hoping he comes to the Enchanted Mountains to see what a great fit Bona would be for him.

This is all I could find on anyone named Chauncey. it's old, and when you check his school list at Scout.com, there are currently NO schools listed that are actively recruiting him. He is a one-star recruit.
Chauncey Hardy Has New List Of Schools
By Brian Towey Senior Reporter Date: Sep 26, 2005
Chauncey Hardy has some division one interest
Chauncey Hardy is a guard out of the state of Connecticut whom a number of Division I programs are keeping tabs on. The 6-foot-1, 160 pound combo guard from Xavier High School in Middletown is a scorer who had a steady month of July with J.R. Hargrave's Connecticut Basketball Club. "Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure are flirting,"said Hargrave. "A lot of state schools are interested in him."
Much will depend on how Hardy's academic situation pans out.
"A lot of schools like him, they're just waiting to see what happens with his grades," said Hargrave. "He may need to do a year of prep school after this year. But there is a chance he may qualify."
Hardy likes to attack the hoop, with the body control and quickness to get in the gaps and finish drives. He's an offensive-minded guard who can handle either backcourt spot.

Hardy is a good point guard. He did not play this year due to a disciplinary problem. He committed to Sacred Heart in the early period and they were going to honor the commitment as long as he stayed out of trouble. Evidently he did not.
He is a good defender that thinks pass first. Not a three point threat.
I doubt we are looking at him or Stuard.
Knowing JAC, I think it's someone in the mid atlantic area.

Chauncey Duke is transferring from Dusquesne. He's 6'6". He's the only other Chauncey on the market other than Hardy who I saw listed at 5'11".
