From what I've read, Frantz would be a great addition. Solid numbers at the JUCO level. Big frame which means he could play either the 4 or the 5 position. He would round out a very solid class.

From Ro Russell's website Hoop life, he describes Frantz "as a big-time athlete who moves his feet well and is quick to leap for high rebounds. He plays with power and if he continues to fulfill his potential he will receive high-D1 interest." Ro Russell is an expert on Canadian basketball and he states after prep school Frantz gave a verbal committment to Rutgers, but had academic concerns.

Biography: Arrived from Canada in the middle of his junior season. Big-time athlete with a great body. Moves his feet well and is quick to leap for high rebounds. Reading up on Frantz he appears to be an excellent player and would fill a major void. All sources have him being an excellent rebounder. It seems like we never have enough rebounding. Appears that he at one point in time had tons of high major interest and it looks as if it starting to come back very quickly.
Going back through the thread it has been rumored that another player might have been coming to campus who is about 6'10". Any substance to that rumor? As far as I know we only have one scholarship remaining.

Just realized it can't be Frantz, especially when you consider Solomon's past history of recruiting JUCO's. I've never known Solomon to recruit the leading scorer or leading rebounder of a JUCO team. Averaging 10.7 points and 7 rebounds per game, Frantz leads his team in both categories. In all seriousness Frantz would be a solid signing for Solomon. I have my fingers crossed. In the District 11 championship game against Iowa Western, Frantz out played Calvin Walls. Frantz had 10 points and 7 rebounds compared to 7 points and 5 rebounds for Walls. Unfortunately for Frantz, Iowa Western won the game and ended their season. www.vinu.edu/sports/mbasketball/2006/mbb_314.htm

Frantz's career game: MOBERLY, Mo. - Frantz Dorsainvil's career game and Kris Clark's superb ball-handling and clutch free throw shooting was enough to carry sluggish Vincennes University past Florissant Valley, 86-74, in the Moberly Classic on Friday. Dorsainvil dominated with a career-high 25 points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds. Clark dished out several assists and hit 10 free throws among his 13 points, making six straight in the final two minutes.
Numerous articles about Frantz have pointed out academic difficulty and inconsistency in effort. It appears that when he plays hard he is a more impressive player. Motivating him is an issue but when he is motivated he loves physical play. His 72 TOs is a lot for a big guy inside.

From the picture on the Vincennes University, I remember seeing Frantz in town with the team on Saturday night.

From the picture... I like the fact that if he comes to SBU he will provide some strength down low to help out Paul. He doesen't seem like a guy who likes to get pushed around.

coljsSBU, are you sure you didn't see Chauncey Gibbs, (former Bona recruit) who was in town visiting his friend from home, Michael Lee?
I was concerned with Frantz's attitude and academics. Almost every site openly questions these virtues, but I felt a little better after reading this bit from the Vincennes local paper, this after a late-season win:
It was the Blazers' toughness that pleased Sparks the most. Willie Irick (15 points, 10 rebounds) and Frantz Dorsainvil (10 points, 15 rebounds) each posted double-doubles. VU limited West Plains to 32 percent shooting and 1 of 18 shooting from 3-point range and also outrebounded the Grizzlies, 48-44. "I was really pleased with Frantz. He's been working hard in practice and is showing that he really wants to play."
The quote is from Dan Sparks, who's led Vincennes to 20+ wins in 25 of his 26 years and who I assume knows a thing or two. If he's ironed out the motivational issues and hit the books, I don't think it's much of a risk.
For me, this fell into perspective while looking at the Web site for his AAU team, the Boston Saintz. There's a very brief bio for each player, and Dorsainvil's simply reads "is the best player to come through the program." His bio is next to that of Kedric Price, the high-flying wing we coveted a couple years back.
The GW board had them interested in Frantz, who was also being recruited by Rutgers, which just signed Hamaday N'Diaye, a Top 10 HS center. Somewhere on the Immediate Impact Big Man Carousel is Hernol Hall, but you get the drift. We'll see where the (blue) chips fall and, God willing, we'll for once get a break and land this stud, if in fact he's interested in us.
Here's a link to another picture of Frantz: njhoops.rivals.com/ content.asp?CID=145416

The guy that was here was certainly Franz, a friend of mine saw him at the OP and confirmed it by seeing his picture from the link above.
