Jumping the gun a bit, but this game will be a big, big test for Bona. If this team is going to make a run at the top tier of the A10, it's important to beat a team like Rhody. (Davidson, check. GW, watch out.)
For this game, could someone confirm that the students will NOT be back on campus? Hoping I'm wrong, but it looks like they won't be?

Speaking of UMass, the next game, I assume they will be like a cornered beast after the beatdown they took last night. A very dangerous game in my opinion.

Being 3-0 should fire up the local fan base. Need lots of that enthusiasm in the RC on Wednesday night.

URI has an impressive D (#2 points allowed) & #1 Blocks (6’7” Martin is still there & best in the conference).
They put up 72 ppg compared to our 77. But their trey shooters are #3 in conference @ .379. So on any night they can score plenty if hot. We used to make ALL teams look like superstars from beyond the arc & a team like URI coming in would be dreaded.
However this season we have really turned that pattern around. Always at the bottom defending the trey this season is quite different. Opponents are only hitting .299 of them which has us #2 in conference. We have repeatedly put the clamps on good trey shooters & hope we repeat that against McGlynn (36%) & Thompson (44%).
Going from #13 last season (allowing 36%) to # 2 (allowing .299) is a REMARKABLE improvement in defending the TREY. Hope we can keep it up

Need lots of that enthusiasm in the RC on Wednesday night. our local fan base did a great job vs davidson...so much so that it was made note of by the announcers doing tv coverage of the game (and mentioned by jp in his oth article)...need more of the same on wed nite vs a uri team that got "hawked" in philly today and will be looking to bounce back...so keep up the good work, locals...be loud and proud and cheer us on to a-10 win #4!...

I watched St. Joe's beat URI today, Hassan Martin is going to be a handful to deal with. I do think we have the better back court, and the home court minus the student support on Wednesday. This game will be a war, but I think the Bonnies can pull it off and go 4-0 in the A-10. But it sure will take a better effort on the boards. What do you all think about this game? It is going to be a major A-10 test. Appreciate your feedback from you guys who really know hoops, now if this was soccer I could have a good voice in this upcoming match up.

Hope we can keep it up Ive watched all their games, and their doing it from downtown, with Four Mcglynn, Garrett (some nights), but mostly the insertion of Thompson and Akele, two freshman that wouldnt be playing at all, if EC Matthews hadn't gone down.. Their def dangerous, very streaky, but this is a very winnable game, especially at home (Rhody is not a good road team)..

Sorry, meant to quote you on this one too, so i just copied it.. But Rhody has only one road win, at Brown (where they had to overcome atleast a 13 pt 2nd half deficient).. Martin is going to be playing in only his 3rd game back, but really his 2nd full game.. And from 3 the following that i already posted: Ive watched all their games, and their doing it from downtown, with Four Mcglynn, Garrett (some nights), but mostly the insertion of Thompson and Akele, two freshman that wouldnt be playing at all, if EC Matthews hadn't gone down.. And Thompson and Akele are going to be good players down the line, especially Thompson from deep, guy has a sweet stroke..

Four McGlynn sure gets around. Began at Vermont, transferred to Towson, now at URI. He's extremely streaky, scored 33 in a recent Rams win. But he will throw up his share of bricks when guarded tough. And Bona has the guards who can take him out.

Big chance for the Bonnies to get some recognition from outside Bonanation. Rhody and Bona rank first and second respectively in conference-only offense, fifth and sixth in conference-only defense, citing Kenpom metrics. Very closely matched, but we have the home court, an extra day of rest, the momentum of a winning streak, and maybe not so many unhealed bruises from the last game. Three point favorite Bonnies will need to keep shooting well to get the win.

So he'll get hot in some stretches, but when he's off, its basically Garrett driving to the hoop, mostly out of control (recently he's been better), but lately Thompson and Akele have stepped up.. Im not really worried about Mcglynn as much as Martin down low creating havoc, and someone that we wouldnt expect, like the two freshman i mentioned, hitting some key shots. But like i said, their not a good road team, they get in big ruts, and we just have to capitalize on it, when they do so..

Ironically it came down to free throw shooting, which Rhody wasn't very good at, and they hit (mostly Buchanan) 6 free throws in the final minute to seal the win 53-48.. Now we have the home court advantage..

Might have to breakout that zone double team defense against Martin that Schmidt deployed against the GMU big man(Thompson).

Gotta love to see the Bonnies getting some national love from Seth Davis in his rankings this week. Let's beat URI and really make a statement!
His "almost famous" = out of the top 25, but getting close.
