He wasn’t a Bonnie, but....
Bill Fitzpatrick passed away today at his home in Hilton Head Island, SC. He died from complications from lung cancer and brain cancer.
Bill was Dartmouth ‘71. But he loved Bonaventure basketball.
Bill’s family owned the Olean Times Herald for generations. He was a happy resident of Seneca Heights for many years.
His wife, Lynne, and daughters Jennifer and Susan and his three grandchildren will be comforted by family and friends in the coming days.
God rest your soul, Bill.

Ok, maybe not directly a Bonnie grad, but my grandfather deserves mention. RIP Francis “Tony” Wilson who officiated many Bona games and helped establish the IAABO tournament during Larry Weise’s tenure while earning an IAABO lifetime achievement award. He passed on Friday, and would have been 95 on Sunday. He was also about to receive an award for 75 years as a VFW member, which will be presented posthumously to my family. He was a tremendous high school athlete, a big influence in the community and overall a stand up gentleman. You’ll be missed by many grandpa. God bless!

When Tony and Joe DeCerbo officiated an OHS boys game, it was in good hands. A great guy, and among the premier hoop officials at any level. God bless you, Tony, and thank you for your outstanding leadership and service.

I think I met Jack once at Bonas'. The newspapers were saying that Niagara had a center as good as Bob Lanier. Jack said "Manny Leaks will never be Bob Lanier." Jack's mother may have been from Olean. I think her name was Harriet.

This is terrible news! Hadn't seen Brendan in many years, probably since Bonas, but remember him as being a great guy, fun to be around and a very solid hooper. RIP Brendan!

Following Brendan's video streamed funeral mass at 11 am today, the family will process thru the streets of Crestwood and friends and neighbors are invited to stand in front of their homes for a final wave to a remarkable person who gave so much to his parish and community as Annunciation CYO basketball coach, President of Hillcrest Lakers sports club, leader in the Annunciation Men's Club and daily communicant. The finest of Bonnies from the Bronx. God rest his soul and provide solace to his family.

Fr. Conrad was my high school Latin instructor for three years at Walsh. Often bumped into him on campus after that. tinyurl.com/y5yqml6v
