Tom Fitzmaurice '61 passes away this morning. Tom played on the the 60 & 61 basketball teams alumniguy RIP Tom. I was a frosh when Tom was a senior. Backup to Bob McCully at center, bringing in muscle and toughness (actually it was tom Stith who would move underneath and score, score, score). I believe he scored a couple of points (I am thinking 4, but will have to check) in that historic 84-82 loss to #1 Ohio State in the finals of the Holiday festival.

Received sad news the other day that Chuck "Blues" Folsom '75 passed away suddenly. Chuck and I made many road trips around New England chasing the Bonnies and up to Albany for Siena. Probably the best road trip was Cleveland in 2000 for NCAA's. Chuck's dad was an ECAC referee and took Chuck on a road trip to Bonas in the late 60's to ref a game and Chuck was hooked. Chuck met his wife Janet at Bonas and they've been together ever since. Daughter Lindsey is a Bona grad and he leaves a son Greg also.

today is fr gerald's anniversary...so I came up with some prayer requests for Father to follow up on: 1) for eternal rest for ray dee...2) for Dr D for a return to good health and to return to campus soon...for Coach Fiske's nephew...for ohs73...for bonas08...and for all of us here on the 'wagon...and, oh yeah, continued success for our men's basketball team leading to the a-10 championship and a nice run in the ncaa tournament...

Today is a sad day for me...i was reading the OTH on-line this morning and I saw the obituary for Jeff Wolcott '69...in addition to being a Bona grad, Jeff was a Bona dad whose daughter Sarah played soccer for the Bonnies...I first met Jeff when I was a senior at Bona's and it was great to re-connect with him when my wife and I retired back here 4+ years ago...he was a great guy...he loved everything Bona's and was particularly a great fan of our men's basketball and women's soccer teams...the obituary states donations to The Bonaventure Fund would be greatly appreciated...I will stipulate in my donation that it go to the women's soccer team in memory of Jeff, a great Bona dad and Bona grad...

Please, please enjoy every moment of your life! Say your prayers, kiss your wife, drink the good whiskey, cheer on the Bonnies with all your heart, spend you money (wisely) and love and help others. I am blessed with five beautiful children and a lovely wife and I thank God everyday for my good fortune. While the Bonnies don't always win as much as we like, there is no better place from which to graduate and no better set of morals and a compass for life. I pray that all of the people mentioned on this thread were able to glean as much out of our short time here on earth as possible. Steps off soap box.

I recently learned of the passing of Fred Specht. Fred played center on the last Bonas football team. He hiked the ball to Ted Marchibroda. All offensive plays started with Fred. I don't know if he had to play defense in those days. Fred worked at IBM and later went into real estate in NYC. He was always considered the epitome of the "Bonaventure Man". RIP Fred. www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/new-york-ny/frederick-specht-9152516
