a sad goodbye to krist "taz" jani, class of '74...for those of you on this board who remember taz, no more needs to be said (i'm sure you've got taz stories, too)...for those of you who never knew taz, well, this space wouldn't suffice...more appropriate would be an evening at burton's or some other watering hole...and the stories would take up most of the night...

RIP Taz. I didn't know him well but spent some time with him and know some fellow members of the class of 74 who were close with him. A wonderful, if somewhat crazy, guy. Spent the weekend of the ND game in Rochester with him in 78. Good memories. Rest easy big guy.

Taz was the greatest! Knew more about the inner workings of the Bona bubble than the best reporters at BV. When Taz strolled down to Brian and Jazz's room for a nightly visit, every Bear tried to gain admission. Forever grateful that I attended on a regular basis.

sorry, fr tim...a day late (like my handing in papers for class)...yesterday was the 21st anniversary of fr tim quinn entering eternal life...probably could have started another thread just for "tim quinn" stories but, if you have any, this is as good a place as any...

"eternal rest grant to him, O Lord..." fr reginald redlon passed into eternal life 4 years ago today...i doubt anyone who was in the rc (was called the uc then) the night the barns burned will ever forget fr reginald telling us that "i do not consider this (meaning the burning of the barns) to be an act of intimidation"...fr went on to say he would close the school and send everyone home if another incident like that occured...i don't think anyone doubted him...to this day, whenever i see someone acting in an intimidating way or i myself feel as if i'm being intimidated, i think of father's words, the faith i believe he had which allowed him to speak so forcefully, and it reminds me of the courage one with faith has...
by the way, if you walk around campus, you will not find anything recognizing father's 6 years as president...nor will you find anything recognizing his predecessor, fr francis kearney, nor his successor fr damian mcelrath who all contributed to bonas in their own way...

what a way to go...live to be 89 and pass away listening to the bonnies...Lord, if You're listening, sign me up for the same ending...
