fr reginald redlon celebrates his 5th anniversary in heaven today...and fr tim quinn celebrated his 22nd anniversary last friday, nov 3 (belated happy anniversary "tq")...a couple of prayer requests for you both: 1) for abigail and the kid who was hurt in the rugby match on saturday that they be restored to good health and 2) for dr deperro (who was inaugurated as bonas 21st president last friday), that the Holy Spirit will guide him and that, under his leadership, bonas will "survive and thrive"...
this sunday, nov 12, the llam mass at little bonas will be said for jim madonna who on that date 46 yrs ago became the 1st person from the class of '74 to pass into eternal life (and we've had 30 or so) since then...a good opportunity for anybody who happens to be in the area to go to mass and receive Communion for all the bonnies from all the classes who have died...

reminder: today's 11am mass at little bonas is a timely one for a number of reasons: for jim madonna '74 (46th anniversary)...for all our living and deceased veterans (yesterday was veterans' day)...for all deceased bonnies (this is the month for all souls)...if you're in the area...if not, wherever you are, please say a prayer for all of the above...p.s. and a prayer too, please, for ladamian's grandmother who passed away the other day...

Jim- Sorry for your loss. It's been a rough stretch for the mid/late 80s SBU RFC. Hope to see you at 80s weekend.

on this date in 1984, fr cronan maxwell passed into eternal life...fr cronan was a history prof at bonas and, i suppose, if one were a franciscan today would be a great date to enter into eternal life as this happens to be the feast day of st anthony of padua, one of the greatest franciscans (and a great favorite in many italian families)...

I had Fr Cronin and if I remember he was a character to be sure...what I was doing in a History class beats me? Also,I think this was the one class of mine that Lanier was in .

Attached article "SBU football hero, FBI special agent passed this week" is from Olean Times Herald. Chris Scaturo was Bonnies starting QB in the late 40s. Also attached is a short video clip of him playing against Boston College. Receiver of the TD pass was George Hays who played with the Steelers. He played professionally with the Jersey Giants. Following is from article. In 1950, Scaturo earned a bachelor of science in mathematics from St. Bonaventure University, where he was quarterback of the football team. He is remembered for engineering a 1949 upset over Boston University when — in his final season — he threw two touchdown passes and ran for a third touchdown himself. After that season he was presented with a wristwatch recognizing his athletic achievement. The inscription on the watch read "St. Bonaventure Gridiron Club Award to Chris Scaturo 1949." Following graduation, Scaturo played for the Jersey Giants. An injury in his third game ended his professional football career. www.oleantimesherald.com/news/state-union-sbu-football-hero-fbi-special-agent-passed-this/article_a0246428-7040-11e8-94e9-3ba3e6468360.htmlarchives.sbu.edu/football/the_history.htm
