2.8, Dowtin at line, makes ft, 95-92, 1.9 after foul. Stukes 2 1 ft, misses 2nd, lane violation LaSalle. URI survives in ot, 95-93. I found it remarkable to see Dowtin 11-12 at the line last night. One of the most amazing things about friday night's win was how excellent and key the Bona guards defended Dowtin in our win friday night. But back to his free throw shooting. Last night 11-12. Dowtin is a 73% free throw shooter on the season. I did not realize this at the time. Friday night after the Griffin dunk to take the lead late Jay got called for reaching in on Dowtin right away. 18 seconds left, Rhody down 1 and a 73%er goes to the line shooting 1 & 1. Rhody probably thought they were gonna win. He rimmed out and Mobley made a man's man rebound play but damn. You have to acknowledge the home court advantage there. If Dowtin's shooting in front of a pro-Rhody crowd or even a pro-church mice crowd like in La Salle he probably sinks both and they win. This should be proof enough that a raucous student section can provide an edge in games

For some reason Im still a little scared of VCU. Maybe I'm just judging them too much off the past because I haven't seen them this year. But they just got waxed by George Washington. I think the main thing is they have a tough arena to play in. Currently I'm scared of a loss against Duquesne. If they win, then I'll be scared of VCU. If they win, then I'll be scared of Davidson. If they keep winning I'll be scared they won't get an invite. If they get an invite I'll be scared they'll be a one and done. If they win the NCAA championship I'll be scared of how the team will fare without Jay and Matt. I live in constant fear. bonasdude06 FOR THE WIN. shut the internet down

Have no fear, as best said by the tv character Walter White in Breaking Bad:
"I have spent my whole life scared. Frightened of things that could happen, might happen, might not happen. Fifty years I spent like that. Finding myself awake at 3 in the morning. But you know what? Ever since my diagnosis, I sleep just fine. And I came to realize it's that fear that's the worst of it. That's the real enemy. So get up. Get out in the real world. And you kick that bas!a*d as hard as you can right in the teeth." - Walter White

Hey gang, it's Friday night. Time for the URI Game of the Week, featuring our good buddy Danny Hurley.
What is this, three straight Friday features from the Kingston Five?

36-34 URI at half. UD got after it on D, quite a few swats, but Rhody got on a late run before the horn.
Dayton puzzles me. Flyers have talent but their record is so-so. Don't z on them in DC.

Rhody slamming the door shut tonight. Total blowout, 76-48 4 to go. UD buried by 21 turnovers and a URI shotmaking clinic. It was 36-34 at half.
Remember how quiet Dowtin was last Friday? No longer. Consecutive 20+ pt games.
1st outright reg season crown for URI. Fill in the slots 2 thru 14.

The thing is other than Bona I would probably only want to watch them right now.... Good business decision by ESPN... Our game with VCU could have been on there instead, but I'm content on CBS Sports network.

Davidson wrapping up win over Duquesne. Fourth straight double double for Aldridge going into the Bona rematch. He's fun to watch. 28 for Grady.
Regardless of VCU outcome, it's must win vs. Cats for Bona to get the two seed.

Ok, all A10 games are final 2/28. Mason stunned reeling VCU 81-80 on Boyd tip-in before horn. Duquesne 76-69 over SLY, Verhoeven 7/7 fg, 21 pt. LaSalle got 27 from BJ and whipped a Dayton club that is not in a good way going into the tourney. Richmond easy over UMass, same GW over Fordham.
The seeding plot thickens. Look for Stunna's update.
