Had to be hard for DALEN sitting on the bench with his team down 3 with 1 min to play. He missed most of the 2nd half due to an injury.
He played 20 mins, 17 pts, 4-6 FGs, 3-5 TREYS and 7 rebs.
His team split with the National Champs this season.
All the best to DALEN as he considers becoming a Bonnie.

Charlon Kloof was a prototype Schmidt player - tough, hard nosed, played with a chip on his shoulder. Excellent defensively and a good rebounder. A winning player. Lofton has similar size and his also an excellent defender. One undersized point guard who played terrific dense was Tim Winn. Bonas, under Schmidt, usually plays good defense and values every possession on offense since we don’t often recruit really gifted offensive players. Better to recruit guys who play both ends of the court

April soon to be May, we've done some of our best work in that time frame, Jaylen Adams, Marcus Poseley and Osun Osunniyi signed on in that window,if memory serves. Now we've added Quadry Adams, Karim Coulibaly, Justin Ndjock-Tadjore and Oluwasegun Durosinmi in the lead up to this last push. We were disappointed when Jackie Johnson did not join the fold, but almost immediately we to a glimpse of Dalen Ridgdal, who I would say made all thoughts of Johnson seem like ancient history. And, now we can add Linton Brown and Joryam Saizonou to our hopeful list. Also still out there are Brendan Mykalcio and Mo Nije, in the world of recruiting I'm uncertain if no news is good news, or is it vice versa. For right now, for me it's about Dalen Ridgdal, as WGT noted, yesterday must have been a rough day for Dalen, not being able to finish with the national junior college championship on the line. If there is good news for Dalen, it's that the fog will soon lift and he has his best basketball yet ahead of him. We are hoping he'll chose the Bonnies. I most also note that in a brief window of time I've been jazzed by Joryam Saizonou, and what I think he could bring to this team, not only in his role as a point guard, but also in our immediate need for another shooter. This being said, are there still others out there that are staff have identified? The likely answer is yes. Sorry I didn't mean to slight Lindon Brown, who has pretty much described Bonas as his school, I want to play on a competitive team and I want to major in broadcasting. I can't through a post w/o plugging Amadou Traore, the 6'7" 255 power forward, who could be the fourth front court option, who would also make it difficult for Gary Neese to figure out is it Tadjore or Traore. Pretty exciting and hard to wait, keep the positive vibe, Go Bonnies.

If Jaeden's numbers are correct, he's 6'2", 210. He comes from a Milwaukee suburb and he's just finished his first year at Chipola jc in Florida. I happened to click on Chipola's next tot he last game in the jc national tournament. They played Linton Brown's Indian River state team and beat them 78-75, knocking them out of the tournament. That was a poor shooting night for Brown, 1-10 from the field. Zackery on the other hand, pretty much lit it up, 9-15 from the field, 2-2 from three, 4-4 from the line, 8 assists, 6 steals and I to, on his way to a team high 24. That I believe was a quarterfinal game, so I guess you can say it's not how many points you score it's when you score them. Chipola, then played Coffeevile cc the next night and lost 66-63, Coffeeville then played in the title game last night and beat Cowley CC, who had to play the last 15 minutes of the game w/o Dalen Ridgdal. Cowley again came back, and cut Coffeeville's lead to 3 with a minute left, but could not get any closer. The final was 108-99. A tough loss for Cowley and Dalen. Dalen is still the man in my book, he plays so much bigger than his 6'6" frame, I was so impressed in the game that I watched, with Dalen's ability to let the came come to him, other teams double and sometimes triple team him and he would just play through his teammates. That said, he has that ability to also take over a game and will his team to a victory. He is also a standout defender and shot blocker. Dalen you took your team to heights Cowley had not seen in 62 years, we need you to be a part our drive to make it back to back NCAA appearances, this group with your help is ready to take the next step, sweet sixteen, elite eight, why not.

I don't see Jaeden's game translating to the atlantic 10 or more specifically the Bonnies. Kind of a show boat and a couple of showboat plays or passes that result in turnovers he would never get back on the court.

Well, Schmidt made offer, so either he sees something you don't--or he is getting sense that nearly all offered so far will pass (no playing time etc.) and so going down to next tier. Not a great sign if true. But i have long said people over-estimate how appealing SBU is to most who have tons of other options. We'll see.

From his highlight video being 6"1 and his style of play do you really see him fitting in with 5 for sure players getting a ton of minutes and even if he does get in do the no look passes and crossovers translate at a higher level?? - probably not. There is no playing time to offer another guard behind lofton and quadry. I really wish they would just land that drop dead shooter. He doesn't even need to be athletic with the players we have. Just that zone buster that can come in and drain open threes consistently.

But i have long said people over-estimate how appealing SBU is to most who have tons of other options. We'll see. I've long said that people underestimate the appeal of Bonas to a particular group of people - especially parents and those wanting a more personal experience. We have to sell to our strengths and although no school appeals to everyone, Bonas has something special to offer - something that most schools don't have. Sell that and attract the players that prefer what we have.

I didn't see the UW Milwaukee offer, nor did I look at any of Jaeden's videos. I'm guessing the Milwaukee being home and the chances of him getting playing time there, vs North Texas or us, that he may decide on UW Milwaukee.
I'm staying with Dalen Ridgdal, it may not be about who is in front of you, but there are a number of small forwards at East Carolina, they have had a lot of transfers out and I'm guessing they are in somewhat of a rebuild mode. Georgia is the SEC, but I don't see them catching fire either, they signed a grad transfer out of Florida Atlantic that they are really excited about, he's a small forward, that was on April 12th, they also have a four star freshman who will want minutes at the sf as well. A slew of guys just transferred out, a couple were starters. They were middle of the pack at the SEC at best last year. That's my nickel analysis, and I know that there are so many variables, but I'm going to root for Dalen becoming a Bonnie. I also really like Joryam Saizonou, I think he is an incredible talent and right now it seems like Marshall is our competition. Joryam can do so many things, not the least of which is create his own shot. I don't thing I've seen a video where I guy hit's so many shots from so many different spots/or positions. He just pulls up and let's it go. Last I looked the shingle was still out there, "shooter wanted". While I don't want to get into a who's better Jackie Jonnson or Joryam, clearly Johnson is a talent, but I recall Joryam put up 24 on Hargrave. In some ways like Justin Ndjock-Tadjore, Joryam is one talented basketball palyer, flying under the radar the more guys we can get like these two, the better our program gets. On the flip side, Bona's is not chopped liver, we're at top 25 program coning off one ot the best years in school history. Coming to Bona's is a great opportunity to play against great competition in practice every day and that's only going to get better when we finish adding a couple more pieces. Just compare what you think our practices were like last year vs what we think they will be like this year, we're going to have competition at every position, to me that translates as if you have two players right there, taking one out and putting another guy in is not going to hurt/disrupt your level of play. If anything it's going to raise the level of play. I don't think we had that situation last year, with the exception of AJ, and I no there are detractors out there, who did we have that we felt comfortable with? I personally thought we got great minutes out of Shaw, but that was Shaw's willingness to learn and his spending 2+ months going against Shoon each day. I'm not going to diss Shaw, I do however think that giving Duro that opportunity to compete against Shoon will have a faster learning curve , in part because Duro is a more athletic big, not the physical presence of Shaw, but overall a quick jumper with more lateral quickness as well. So I say get these guys, shake this thing up and see what we've got.

Jaeden Zachery’s video is lacking in exciting dunks, but looks to be a solid recruit. -- 6’2” PG (according to Chipola website) has a physical build. -- Good athleticism with videos of him dunking. Video is not exciting, but credentials are solid. — As a senior was named Wisconsin’s “Point Guard of the Year.” — Averaged 22 points, five assists, and shot the ball at a scalding 64 percent from the floor. — Starting PG for Scotland Campus (Karim Coulibaly’s school). Helped to lead Scotland Campus to a 40-4 record and #4 ranking. — Averaged 14 points and a team best 6.6 assists. He shot it at a 45.2 percent clip from 3-point range. This is on a team that had 5 D-1 players with Bona making offers to his teammates Norrance Tres Berry (Rhode Island) and Abou Ousmane (North Texas). — 2nd leading scorer for #6 ranked Chipola, who lost by 3 points in semifinals of NJCAA Tournament. At Chipola he averaged 12.5 ppg, shot 52.1% from field and 42% from threes. -- It is important to note Jaeden is a freshman at Chipola. I've noticed over the years, JUCO players stats usually take a significant jump in sophomore year. Chipola also wasn't a high scoring team, but the top defensive JUCO team in the nation. — In 3 games of NJCAA Tournament, Jaeden had impressive stats averaging 17 ppg, shot 55.5% from the field and 60% from behind the arc. Jaeden has solid stats at 2 very impressive schools (Scotland Campus and Chipola). He has been a winner at every level of basketball and an important part of the team. His shooting stats are impressive from both the field and 3s. Another shooter is a need for the Bonnies. www.zachsmart.com/2020/04/zackerys-stock-growing-in-off-season.htmlchipolaathletics.com/sports/mbkb/2020-21/teams/chipolacollege
