bad defense all night long. lousy foul shooting at home. stepping on the sideline 3 times? ?? what kind of crap is that? its pathetic crap that's what it is. continued poor defense against 3 pt shooters. this team lacks 3 pt shooting ability. MATT JOHNSON was brought in as a 3pt shooter. so they play him as the backup pt guard. that makes sense, doesn't it? why not play JOHNSON at the 2 guard once in a while with LOFTON at the point. the best game JOHNSON played all year long was against GW when he played the 2 guard. I think LOFTON and PLANUTIS both need to get some arc on their shots rather than the line drives they are pitching up now. rant over.

Just average 3pt shooting or foul shooting was necessary to win this game. Touch fouls were called, and body fouls were largely ignored. A bulky team like Duquesne was the beneficiary of this sub-par team of officials.

big picture...in spite of being a very young team, another 20 win season is in the cards. against the upper echelon teams..sbu sorely lacks a true power forward. obviously osun is a super talent and rim protector, but needs a young rick mahorn as a wing man..there is a big difference how dayton and rhody bigs play under the hoop...osun is far too nice..bona needs someone to body guys driving the lane..a couple of hard fouls...opponents wont drive as often......it is time to ride with winston for 3/4 of the game as his overall contributions outweigh his frosh lapses - let him make his mistakes now as he can be a beast next year..but, he is not a power forward... - unrealistic expectations for planutis..hopefully carpenter can redshirt and sticks around...the two guys coming in next year wont fill the void at PF. take down sju and lasalle and pound the billikens. also, the development of welch is amazing to watch...

I agree about need for a big body who can bang and finish inside. WELCH has improved with increased strength year over year. BOBBY PLANUTIS please take note of this comment. what WELCH needs to work on in the offseason is learning to finish at the rim. he gets there but doesn't finish often enough to make a difference.

Agree that MATT is definitely a 2. JAREN is our backup PG not MATT.
Last night the DUKES hit 10 of 35 treys (29%)well below their season average .323.
I see no issue with KYLE's arc on his TREY. He has made 44% of his treys which is best in conference. Wish he would put up more.
Failure knocking down treys last night really hurt us (24%). On the season we are #3 TREY % at 35%.
Last night I counted 5 in and out treys. If only just one fell back in.

That was a tough one. Duquense is solid team and Dambrot is a good coach. We had won nine in a row vs. them. That is a streak that was due to end. Decent chance we see them again in Brooklyn for the rubber match.
In the meantime, I am hoping for a strong effort at Lasalle this weekend.
Go Bonnies!

The development of the 4 spot has been a bit frustrating... it's gone back and forth between Winston and Bobby... Winston feels like the better play in the long run, but he has to get better defensively and stop taking so many ill-advised shots... I'd like to see him do a better job in terms of "pick and pop" as well, as it could keep Osun closer to the hoop for offensive rebounds.
All that said, Dr. John was right on the telecast last night... the sophomores are only going to get better... these are growing pains... what other team in the country starts 4 sophs and a freshman and will have 20 wins this season?

most of the A10 officiating crews are sub-par. i don't know how these a10 coaches stand it...i think to say the a10 refs are sub-par is like giving them a "gentlemens c"...i think they're awful...i think there's a general lack of good officiating in college basketball and the a10 winds up with the crumbs...

most of the A10 officiating crews are sub-par. Refs allowed the game to be physical underneath, which benefits Duquense with Michael Hughes and Baylee Steele. It was physical inside with few calls, but all of a sudden you will see a foul called on a hand check out on the perimeter. Perfect example is Hughes and Winston having the same number of fouls (4 fouls). How does a player who bangs inside all game have the same number of fouls as a player who avoids the rough stuff inside? Justin was called on at least 2 hand checks.

The good, bad and ugly from the Duquesne game. The good -- Very entertaining game from 2 teams that played really hard. -- Despite Gary Nease choice of Sincere Carry (18 points 5-17 from the field and 11 assists) I thought Osun was the obvious MVP with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. Big difference in the team whenever Osun goes to the bench. -- Jaren looked solid when he replaced Kyle at PG. It didn't take Dambrot long to realize Dunn-Martin could not cover Jaren while he was at the point. I thought Bona should have isolated 5'8" Dunn-Martin more underneath. -- Again Dom was incredible on the boards. He tied a career high with 14 rebounds. Last 8 games Dom is averaging close to 10 rebounds a game (79 rebounds in 8 games). The bad -- Interior post defense, especially last 5 minutes of the game. Dambrot had two 240 pound big bodies Michael Hughes and Baylee Steele going against 215 pound Osun and 200 pound Bobby. It was a complete mismatch, which resulted in several easy baskets. I thought Bonnies should have gone with a zone with Hughes and Steele out there together. -- Dom struggled with his stroke making just 3 of 14 shots. -- Kyle had some uncharacteristic careless turnovers. -- Received very little from the bench with 8 points (3 of 8 shooting) 4 rebounds and 3 turnovers. The ugly -- Bonnies shooting. Just 23.8% three point shooting and 63.2% from the line. Most disturbing part is Bonnies best foul shooters are at fault as Osun was 3-4 at the line. -- Really ugly was watching Michael Hughes and Steele with all those easy baskets at the end of the game. -- Really, really ugly is watching Hughes complain about every foul when he should have been called for many more fouls. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/dominick-welch-1/gamelog/2020

Chuck I am glad you mentioned Hughes and all his crying. It was difficult to watch. He should be thankful to those refs. For some reason they never called any push off fouls when the ball was in the air and they could've/should've
-
We play Duquesne twice a year every year and it feels like we had beaten them like 800 times in a row. They were bound to win one. Just disappointing because despite playing poorly we had this game won, up 3 under a minute left

Chuck I am glad you mentioned Hughes and all his crying. It was difficult to watch. He should be thankful to those refs. For some reason they never called any push off fouls when the ball was in the air and they could've/should've There was a particularly critical missed call with 2 minutes to go, with Hughes shoving Welch in order to get to a rebound in the corner. Welch gets called for a foul and the hard shove gets ignored.
