I have mulled this around and have discussed this before, but here goes, again.
One of the dangers is travel, so minimizing it is a good thing. Games against teams like UB, canisius, Niagara, are easy 1 day trips....team travels by bus leaving in morning, play the game in the afternoon, and then return. Play those schools twice. Now other schools can be considered. Such as Colgate, maybe St. francis, Binghamton.
There is merit in playing, although the competition level is not great, and could impact net/rip, but they are safely playing, and that's good.

We would be put in Buffalo, along with UB, Canisius, Niagara, Colgate, Robert Morris and St Francis (Pa) and I think there is one more team, everybody would be guarantee 6 games and there would be no conference teams playing each other. That would have to include Pitt and Duquesne. Otherwise this is not really about geography. If you add Pitt you also need to include the "Evil Empire".

while this seems to be all over the place with respect to what the prospects are for college hoops, Marcus Fuller, who used to cover college hoops here in Minneapolis and I think now works for ESPN, was re-tweeted by Andy Katz, Fuller had been in on NCAA social something call with Mark Emmert, President of the NCAA.... the gist of the conversation being, that Katz had indicated he was encouraged about the possibility of college hoops being played....when part of Emmert's quote being, if we need to operate around the bubble concept to get games played....somehow in conjunction with the conferences and the teams we'll get it done. You can't take that to the bank, but that's more optimistic then I think I've heard anyone else's comments. I'll take that as good karma.

Sure this will end up in about three separate threads, but according to U B 's website the Bulls will be traveling to the Reilly Center for a December 22 game against our BONNIES.

Also put Akron on the schedule for the 15th at Cleveland. Might be reading into this a bit, but why in Cleveland @first Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse? Does anyone think Akron might try to utilize Cleveland's NBA arena to have 10-20% fans? Seems possible and safe being that Cavs arena hold around 20K.

Good call on Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, makes sense. Here is a link to the latest schedule: gobonnies.sbu.edu/sports/m-baskbl/2020-21/schedule

Why is the UB game at 4:00 on a Tuesday?

It is over break, no fans are allowed to attend and it is 3 days before Christmas. UB probably intends to bus down in AM, do a walk through, have pregame meal, rest up, play the game, and bus back to the concrete slabs.

So Army is replacing Vermont? I missed that. Saw Vermont was pulling out but didn't see Army taking their spot.

So Army is replacing Vermont? I missed that. Saw Vermont was pulling out but didn't see Army taking their spot. Army was already locked-in to playing the Bonnies. Vermont game was supposed to be Dec. 1. The plan was to play 4 games in "the bubble"...hopefully they can pick-up a replacement for UVM. There are certainly teams looking for games at this point......

Just to provide a little perspective by way of comparison, today’s Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has an art on Jim Ferry being named the head hoops coach at Penn State for this year. The article states that the Nits open Wednesday with Drexel at home, and has four other OOC games scheduled as of now. So they only have five OOC games set. Even with the coaching uncertainty, I would have expected they’d have more games set. Maybe this might be the opportunity for the start of a series with a quality program located only a couple hour drive away from Bonas. Also, putting on the pressure, the PSU AD is quoted as saying, in essence, that Ferry would have the inside track on the permanent job if he has a successful season this year.
