Wow - Fordham nearly nocks off A10 juggernaut Davidson while G Mason beats Dayton. Just a reminder that these games are played by 18-22 year olds and effort / execution will vary considerably from night to night. Look around - It's not just an A10 phenomenon either. I expect the performance of the BONAS "IRON FIVE" (with an average age of ~23 years) will not vary as wildly as the younger teams in the A10. It's just a theory at this point - of course ... Kyle's ankle certainly plays a factor in our consistency as well.
Need to be ready and pumped for George Mason.
Keep Grinding - LETS GO BONAS

Davidson is undefeated in the league, we have one loss and everyone else, including the Top 4 usual suspects, already have at least 2 league losses. That’s a good start for us from the regular season perspective. Plus the league is just starting the annual internal top of the league feeding frenzy. There have been a number of upsets with middle of the pack teams knocking off the big boys, something we avoided both at LaSalle and at Duquesne, which we will hopefully continue v GMU and SJU before the face off with Davidson.

Davidson pretty fortunate not to be called for a foul on a 3 point shot at the end of the game. For those that think that 3 point shooters don't have off nights - Davidson, an excellent 3 point shooting team, shot 3 for 13 or 23% today. How much of this was defense on the part of Fordham? I would guess that Davidson averages a lot more than 13 3-point attempts per contest...Hopefully, Davidson is undefeated when they come into the Reilly Center and we have two more wins by then. That should give the boys more incentive...Of course, our sweep of the Wildcats last year should give them the incentive too. It'll be a battle of who wants it more...I hope it's us because we could certainly use it for our resume...

UMass beats St Louis on Wednesday and then St Louis is up some crazy number today like 63-38.
How can you figure this stuff out. Daye for Fordham hits the winning bucket at the end of the game to beat St Louis for Fordham a week ago and then he enters the transfer portal and Fordham in the same week lose another guard, so they are guard strapped having to play Davidson, and almost beat the Wildcats.

I think we need to really scout this game of Fordham vs. Davidson. Since we have Osun inside to help around the basket defensively, we should be able to concentrate on stifling their 3-point shots...

Osun guards the paint like no other on leaving his man to block shots. He struggles stopping bigs backing in on him for jump hooks. That is where Davidson's 2 bigs killed the Rams in the paint.

Mason plays St Joes tonight. Wednesday will be their 3rd game in 5 days. Should be an advantage for the Bonnies.

SBU pretty much has to lose one more one game and some how convince another team or teams to play them .. Why would they play a 92 NET team is the issue.

I respect your opinion, wgt, immensely. However, I would say that defending 3s against this team should be of the utmost priority. Those are the teams we struggle against and I don't know if we can beat them without a new strategy. Maybe more motivation to defeat an "undefeated" team might get our guards flying around more to defend the 3, but that would be the only reason I could think of where we stop the Wildcats' affinity for dropping bombs from the sky like they have been doing all year so far. I don't know if it was you (I think it was) who said he would like to see Osun and Coulibaly be given a try together on the court. This might be the game...

They are not only going to have to win ever game in conference, but hope they can schedule and win another game.

Richmond wins at Rhody after being behind double digits by outscoring them 44-24 in the second half and finishing the game on at least a 15-1 run (I didn’t watch it but that’s based on the Rhody tweets). What a meltdown at home.

Richmond comes back from 15 down to win at URI. The Spiders showed the benefit of experience as they just played their game and wore down a very athletic URI team and shut them down in the stretch. URI got panicky in the last 10 minutes and while they are very physical and athletic, they really lacked any leadership on the court to settle them down, leading to sloppy ball handling and some incredibly poor shot selection - several deeeep threes that didn’t come close and looked lethargic when they needed high energy to stop the Spiders’ run late in the game. I am not sure URI is a top4 team but they present the challenge of being deep with physical players and impressive athletes.

Red flags are up in Kingston. Consecutive home losses to GW and Spidey must be disconcerting to the Ram faithful. URI is usually tough at home which Bona knows all too well.
