A most interesting A10 matchup Friday night. SLU at Spidey. Whom do you prefer? SLU. They can win out and not catch us while making the top 50 NET. Assuming we win out, which is a big ask.

I agree, but pretty much any scenario where we’re hoping x beats y in order to improve our resume has to assume that we win out. Otherwise it really don’t matter who else wins and loses, since we’d need to win the A10 without question given another loss

Just to suggest a different perspective, I think the Bonnies play their best when under pressure to do so. If SLU wins they stay on our heels, which might result in a better effort from our guys over the next three games to hold on to the half game lead. If we have room to fail, we might. Maybe we’ll be better off if SLU wins tonight, but I think I will still root for Richmond because us finishing 3-0 will be very difficult. But if SLU wins, so be it.

Watching SLU-Spidey. Billies are just pounding Spiders inside, driving hard to the rack and drawing and-1s. Also popping home open 3s. 75% fg thru 15 min, up 35-24.

Very impressive 1st half from Billies, 43-33. Spidey has worked to do.

St Louis shot 66% FGs and 40% treys. I see them cooling off the 2nd half with home crowd getting Spiders going.
St Louis + 6 rebs and 32/16 PIP.

Spidey has gone to work after the break while SLU has gone to sleep. Spiders 54-51-9:30 to go.

Richmond has run their offence to perfection after the break, just back-dooring the Billies to death. Their passing and cuts have been brilliant. As hot as they were in the opening frame, SLU can't throw a pea in the ocean.
Like Bona did at SLU, Spidey has clogged the lane and shut off Billie layups.
Anybody's game. 5 min, 64-59 Spidey.
It's amazing how mo can change from one half to the next.

If Spidey wins tonight, they can still have a shot at a 4-seed if they win twice and Bona loses 2 of 3 incl next Friday's rematch. Man it's gonna be a charged RC.

SLU won't go quietly. Okoro and Thatch keeping Billies very much in it. Under 3, UR 68-65.

68-66 Spidey, final. Thatch missed a short baseline jumper before the horn, partially blocked.
Both teams 10-6 in league. Bonnies have a two-game cushion in the loss column for a double-bye slot which several weeks ago seemed remote. MUST beat SJU Saturday to keep mo going. Take care of business.

Thought Spiders blew the chance for the win when up 2 with Golden on the stripe for 2 FTS. With just 12 secs left the medicare card holder missed both FTs giving the Billikens 12 sec to win the game but failed.
A win that creates a little breathing room as described by ohs73 above.

3 of the top 4 in the A10 are on the road today. Could be an interesting day. One game I'm watching is the VCU at UMass game - with UMass' fire power from outside, I expect them to be in the game late. VCU only -6 - I see some value in UMass ML on this one.

Duquesne big man Tre Williams out 4-6 weeks, so easily through the league tourney, with knee surgery -apparently the meniscus. So if we have to face the Dukes again this year in the tourney, they’ll be even weaker underneath. Frankly it’s unlikely the Dukes get within sniffing distance of a win going forward. That team is snake-bitten. It will be interesting to see how many of this year’s roster return to the Bluff in the fall.

Don't worry. Dambrot will bring in a couple dozen recruits and run half of them off by August to get down to 13 scholarships.
