It seems like we can count on the same folks to make the same comments over and over again. Well we can't afford to move the campus to a metro area, right now we are trying to put funding together for a new practice facility. Enrollment, in what most folks in higher ed are saying is a down year. The sky may be falling, but let's give the staff the benefit of the doubt, I'm not good at waiting, but this is how our recruiting has played out for a number of years. We've got some good young talent returning and we've added some very good pieces so far. Stiff upper lip, or maybe even try smiling, it's supposed to be good for the brain, engaging those muscles in the face, tells the rest of the mind and body, it's not so bad. I'm not a Rothstein fan, but he does remind us 169 days to the start of the college hoops season.

Not a great area. But if you are looking to be one of 30,000 then…..

If so, I have a feeling he may have wanted to choose the big city life over small town.

The actions of Osun, lofton, Holmes, and Welch complicated recruiting. Two to tango. The fact that a backup who thinks a starter is returning equals zero minutes for themselves is as much of a problem.

If so, I have a feeling he may have wanted to choose the big city life over small town. Years ago, when my work took me across the globe, I learned that Europeans loved the big cities, or at least to visit them. I was on business in Johannesburg, South Africa. I was staying in the suburbs. A German on assignment on Saturday morning, took his camera and played the tourist in Johannesburg...by day end he was in the hospital, no camera, no money, no passport. Big cities are great.

Disappointed if the Jocius signing with La Salle is true, really liked his potential.
OK, a door closes and now another door will open.

The fact that a backup who thinks a starter is returning equals zero minutes for themselves is as much of a problem. I agree the actions of our starters complicated recruiting. I disagree with the second point if I am reading it correctly. A backup who sees starters returning and equates it to zero minutes is justified in his or her thinking to the extent that the same scenario just played out. If the starters returned, is it not logical for the subs to think the same coaching staff would coach the same way? After all, we had the smallest amount of sub minutes in D-1 last year. Upon hearing the 5, or 4, were coming back, I would have considered leaving as well based on the year they just had. Plus, when they were recruited, they may have been told after this year the 5 graduate and starters minutes will be available next year. That is my assumption as I doubt Coul was saying, great, I will give up my 20 minutes a game in the Big East to play 7 minutes a game in Olean for 2 years. No way.

I didn’t word it very precisely but that’s my point. Yes the players who waited until the last minute affected recruiting, but their backups being gone is the fault of coaching. Since you correctly point out that they should have expected not to play yet again.
