KOSY AKAMETU to Santa Clara I wonder if one of the biggest factors for him was staying on the west coast and being a 5-6 hour drive from his home so his family could potentially maximize how many games they get to go to. He seems like a great kid and I wish him the best of luck! I am going to try to remember to check in on his career! On to the next!

Is there a post we can link at the top of the page that has names, heights, etc of all our new recruits, and links to their highlights, if any? We have so many new guys that I cannot remember the names, let alone the spelling.

Us old guys need to stick together for no other reason than finding our way home.
Not sure my memory is any better but here goes a workable list. Please forgive any spelling errors
E 2 Daryl Banks 6'3 SG E 2 Moses Flowers 6'3 G E 3 Max Amadusan 6'10 C/PF E 3 Chad Venning 6'10 C/F E 3 Kyrel Luc 5'11 PG E 3 Justin-Tadjore 6'8 W/G E 4 Barry Evans 6'8 W E 4 Yann Farell 6'7 W/PF E 4 Anour Mellouk 6'8 W/PF/C E 4 Brett Rumpel 6'4 PG/SG
Still in Play
E 3 Justin Powell 6'6 SG E 3 Shane Dezonie 6'5 SG E 3 Anquan Hill 6'9 C/F
May not be perfect and I left off some I thought we have moved off of or they have eliminated us.

bjif, looks pretty good. I would add Mason Michi'L 6'8" PF from Nevada, spent this year prepping at a school in Las Vegas, really like his game, he would add a legit pf, who can really shoot it, but brings some physicality to the 4, which we don't have. I have to believe the situation in a lot of programs is very fluid right now. Guys like Michi'L kind of being pushed to back burner by portal mania. If we could get Michi'L and one of the shooting guards we are looking at, I would stop right there.

Thanks bjif. Big change from 5 seniors to zero seniors. Lots of youth but I’d take talent over experience with so many programs having high turnover.

Feeling like the Maytag repairman.....
I dug up this practice video on Mason Michi'L, 6'8" unsigned PF out of Skyline Prep in Vegas. I didn't get the Stephon Zimmerman comparison, I thought he might be a NBA player that I had not heard of, but he's a center for UNLV.

What I like to see is the spread of the classes. Age and youth, especially the 4 four year players. They could be a strong core for the future. Agreed with mnbonnie, a SG and a guy like the PF from vegas would be great and wrap up recruiting, saving a ship.

Given the turnover, I am not certain that keeping the last ‘ship open is the right thing to do this year. Maybe holding it open until September makes sense in case a need-filling late grad transfer becomes available. Obviously the coaches won’t be able to fully evaluate the newbies and thus the team’s needs by the end of summer, but I think you have to expect they will be watching pick-up games and talking to players to learn who can do what and what else might be needed. Just looking at the current roster, it seems to me that Center is the position most in need of some support and depth. An experienced grad transfer, even if not a star performer yet but at least a solid player, could be a huge late pickup. Likewise, a solid wing shooter would also be a valuable late addition. It will be interesting to see how the staff finishes out the roster transformation and refill.

Just thinking out loud regarding the depth of this roster.I believe MS will go the redshirt route again. This makes sense for the program and player.Let's take Barry Evans for example. At his size and lack of weight is it better that he spend a year with Darren Fiske so that he gets bigger and stronger. He also gets advanced academicaly so that he acquires and graduates with a Masters. His parents seem like people who only want what is best for their son and he is put into a position to succeed both on and off the court. Civilized responses welcome.
