Former 4 star guard out of HS from Boston. athletic tough guard. Big10 experience. Let’s go get him! youtu.be/DleZmQRwvWo?t=2Feb 27, 2024: IOWA CITY — Sophomore guard Dasonte Bowen is likely done for the season, Iowa basketball head coach Fran McCaffery said Tuesday. Bowen, who has been dealing with a lingering knee injury, has not played since Iowa’s loss at Maryland on Feb. 14. McCaffery said Bowen is likely to undergo surgery in less than two weeks. Good find bigcat. We’ll see if we land this kid, but if we do — we’ll need to keep an eye on this.

Who was the last transfer to land at SBU from a big-time program? One that had an impact. I don’t recall many.
Mika was from Cincy. He had an impact but seemed to be some bad with the good.
Kevin Houston, maybe? He played one year at Miami FL.
Chris Matthews (aka Lethal Weapon) came from Washington State.
We’ve also had some guys from Pitt who were so so at best. Jaylen Poyser from UNLV was a semi-bust. Gone after one season. Most of our best transfers in recent years were from smaller D1 programs or Juco.

I did say POSITIVE impact and ruled out the guys who were so so or bad.
My point is most of our best transfers the last decade were from D1 lower levels or Juco…
Posley Mobley Holmes Adaway Stockard Banks Flowers Pride Woods - Cincy is a lateral move!
We had high hopes for Luc but he got lost in the depth this season. We’ve had other misses as well (Anthony Roberts, Linton Brown, Poyser, Planutis, Shaw, Creal)
Hopefully we can continue to get solid players or maybe a star from smaller programs. Look at what Dalton Knecht did for Tennessee. Went from Juco to Noethern Colorado to first-team all-American at TN.

Well, it is April 2nd and no spring signings yet. The portal is approaching 1500 players — growing rapidly.
In looking back to a year ago, the Bonnies roster came together later than normal … which seems to be the new normal with the portal.
Spring 2023 Spring Signings April 19: Noel Brown commits to SBU May 1: Chuck Pride commits May 8: Duane Thompson commits May 11: MAW commits (Miles Rose committed Nov 2022)
Here’s hoping we get a few nice commitments in the next week or two.

I wonder how Tobi Okani’s visit went Seems like this one is going to be tough. West Virginia visit April 12-14. LSU visit April 19-21. Last is usually best. Gonna be tough against those 2 anyhow. Fingers crossed here. Love his profile for our “4” in Schmidt’s system.

Recruiting info should pick up as I believe tomorrow ends the dead period. If not please stay away from all sharp objects. I feel that we sign 4 in next 2-3 weeks

I believe the dead period ended during the day today. I saw a recruiting calendar with today shaded in two colors.
