We had three nationally televised games against P6 opponents as part of our NIT run.
We could not dream of buying that kind of national media exposure for SBU.
Our run was a huge positive for Bonas, not only from a MBB wins standpoint, but for the betterment of the entire university. Consistently winning teams draw tremendous positive exposure, and Coach Schmidt has rendered that time and time again.
He is worth every penny we pay him. Give thanks that he remains our Head Coach, and rejoice.

While researching Duane Thompson I discovered videos and 3 box scores of Putnam’s games at The Hoop Hustle. From the box scores, Miles scored 44 point in 3 games. Duane scored 30 in 2 games (he wasn’t listed in 1 box score). The videos are just a minute long. Miles displays impressive athleticism with numerous dunks. Duane Thompson’s video is different with him shooting several 3 pointers and scoring on drives or scoring close to the basket. First link has videos of both Miles and Duane. Second link has box scores and video of Miles. Going to be tough getting in that lineup. No. 1-ranked recruit in the country -- elite point guard Isaiah Collier -- and Boogie Ellis, the team's leading scorer and an All-Pac-guard. Of course with the signing of Bronny James there is the attraction of LeBron James. |
