You always hate to hit these discussions, but can’t say he is racist because You do not know him. Hey, maybe he is the grand wizard, but the word racist has lost its meaning. Doesn’t seem like anything he said was racist, and there was at least some factual basis for his opinion, whether it is similar to yours or not. If you don’t like the choice, then don’t give money until you understand what he stands for. We all make choices. He's opposing the President because the President is in favor of equity, diversity, and inclusion. How should we interpret that aside from being a shitty racist? Did you read what I wrote or did you react because of your political views? Do you know that over 100 Catholic Churches and shrines have been attacked since May 2020 or have you just renounced your Catholic faith? Stand up and debate like a man, and stop spouting like some socialist activist. Pathetic.

Look this guy has flaws a mile wide and mile deep. He is a sociology professor (alarm bell one), who has made a career of appealing to criminal felons and he has stated that he deeply agrees with the idea of justice equity, diversity and inclusion. What does that word salad mean (second alarm bell)? Clearly the mission statement of the University of Scranton embraces and supports a group which admitted to attempting an insurrection in the US starting in May of 2020. An insurrection that caused billions of dollars in damages in many American cities, cities like LA, Chicago, NYC, DC, Minneapolis, Kenosha, Buffalo, Rochester, etc, etc. Dozens of citizens were murdered, small businesses destroyed. over 100 Catholic Churches and shrines were attacked and several were destroyed. So according to his justice equity program looting and destroying stores, Catholic Churches and shrines is A OK! That is totally at odds with Franciscan theology...totally. Apparently he is just fine with concepts like no bail for street crime, drug dealing, car theft, looting, simple assault, etc., and parole reform in which violent felons released on bail, can not be violated by parole officers and sent back to prison for not fulfilling your parole SOP's. This is justice equity. Our new President apparently approved of this according to the mission statement. Did not anyone on the search committee ask him about this mission statement...really WTH? Totally unacceptable in every way. Time to continue the search. I, for one, try to learn as much as I can about opposing viewpoints. I went to the University of Scranton Website to read their Mission Statement, but did not find any reference to any group or groups. Would you please expound? catalog.scranton.edu/content.php?catoid=38&navoid=4558#The_Mission_Statement_of_the_University_of_Scranton

Recognizing that literally no one will care about this, I am signing off permanently as "skeller". I am not taking a side in the foregoing argument, but I do think that it doesn't belong on the Bandwagon sports board. Off-topic would be far better.
I will come back with a new name; most probably I'll just add a "6" to the posting name of one of my favorite Bandwagon contributors. :-) Let's Go Bonas!

Not one word about the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church, or on the faith mission of St Francis, but they specifically mention his work in equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.....oh boy man the lifeboats.....a fully woke Jesuit at work........not what I was hoping for, not by a mile. Expect the repression of free speech and safe areas in the library....so woke students can not be disturbed by debate and opinion. Not a good choice he to replace one of greatest Bona President's of all time.... You do know our last president came from a JESUIT SCHOOL RIGHT? Maybe you need to re-read the press release. Also, my understaning was that Jesus was inclusive. Being inclusive however does not fit your narrative.

Predict screwing with the Olean PD lock-up as well as the Olean Municipal and Cattaraugus County Courts will be among his early tilts.
Can the BOT withdraw its offer based on the overwhelming negative response by alumni and others? Gotta believe the SBU Instructional and Administrative staff have similar feelings. Hoping against hope that this will not go the way of Solomon wherein SBU winds up on life support just like the MBB program did. How about giving the gig to Dr. Zimmer who has done a hell of a fine job as SBU Interim President and Provost before that.

Yes so true our new President will reaching out to drug dealers, armed robbers, burglars, car thieves, looters, rapists, etc., etc., because they are oppressed by our law enforcement hero's....yup it coming. Justice equity on steroids. However he is great at handing out donuts.......LOL This is the best we could do to attempt to replace Dennis (who was really not replaceable) ?
