I don’t want to pile on the guy, but I’ve never seen a player fall off a cliff like this. He had 2 points vs Richmond. I’m not sure what the solution is or how to get him going. Initially I thought it was just a slump, but we’re now 15 games into the season. Holding out hope that upcoming games vs Fordham/Rhody can ignite him.

YEAH, it's too bad. I think flowers deserves to get more time. Banks didn't have any boards or assist either. That's not good. Evans probably should have played more. He had 4 boards in 9 minutes. I also think Luc and barry should be in when we are pressing. They are quicker than Mika and assa. You have to have flowers on the floor the way he's playing. He deserves a spot in the starting rotation honestly. Him, Mika, Assa, Pride, Venning sounds dangerous. Then bring in daryl, barry, noel and luc. I don't know though. But, Flowers has been carrying poor shooting nights.
Turnovers killed us again. ugh. Also, they had a hard time defending the pick and pop with king and Quinn. Damn.

From what I hear, Moses likes to come off the bench. He is getting his minutes.

Banks last 2 games: 1/9 5 points What are we going to do? Well, Schmidt said before the game that he thought Banks was playing well. Schmidt said after the game that he has not even thought about benching Banks. So there is your answer. Banks last 6 games. 26 MPG. 7-38, 18%, 3-19 from three, 16%. Averaging 4 points per game. 10 assists in 6 games. 4 rebounds in 6 games.

Hard for Barry to put up any offensive numbers when he’s not getting consistent playing time but he helps in so many other ways. Why does Barry get benched when he starts out 0-3 today?

I think Barry needs to play more than half the game just for his defense and rebounding. It's not like his offense is going to hurt this team today when nobody shot well.

Nobody shot well?
CHAD 8-14, 6-7 FTs
CHUCK 6-11, 3-6 TREYS & 3-3 FTs
MOSES 3-6, 2-3 TREYs, 2-2 FTsN
NOEL 3-3 & 2-2 FTs
These 4 players shot very well. They combined for 59% FGs, 72% TREYS and 93% FTs !!!

Stubbornness? Delusional is the proper term based on Schmidt's comments. Is he watching the same game we are? Does he hope for some sort of miracle from DB3 to break out of this horrific slump? Imho, Banks ought to park his hiney to the pine bc he has not played well to merit the minutes he receives. I'd tab Flowers to start in his stead.

His shot wasn't falling but he probably would have been able to contribute over assa and banks. As a TEAM they shot 40 percent from the field & 33 percent from three. Is 40 percent from the field a good team shooting night? Nope. I think BARRY could have provided some much needed help and should play more than 7 minutes. of course, chad and noel shot a good percentage b/c they don't shoot from outside and are playing well.

As much as many do not want to hear it, pretty sure BARRY had an extended visit on the bench for letting his man blow by him for a couple of lay ups, but yesterday, what BONA defender did not allow that to happen? BTW BONNIES drop to 78 on NET, actually not as bad as I thought it would.

In Coach Schmidt's presser he said the loss was more attributed to our D rather than our offense. I agree and the numbers verify it. When he was asked about DARYL's play he made positive comments, that were a stretch, and would not throw him under the bus. I can see his reason for protecting his player who has played poorly all season. Coach indicated that he plans to keep his stqrting lineup. It does not concern me whether DARYL starts or not. My concern is giving MOSES more mins while reducing DARYL's Several posters have indicated that they also want MOSES taking some of his PT. A very strong case can be made why. Coach indicated a couple of weeks ago that he plays who is playing the best with practice factoring in. Here is a comparison of their play in all games as well as the 3 conference games. DARYL 15 games (30 mpg) FG% 29 / TREY % 27 / FT% 91 / Rebs 1.7 / 11 Steals / ppg 7.7 MOSES 14 games (22 mpg) FG% 43 / TREY % 46 / FT% 76 / Rebs 2.2 / 10 Steals / ppg 10.4 Three Conference Games DARYL (29 mpg) FG% 21 / TREY % 18 / FT% 83 / Rebs 1.0 / 1 Steals / ppg 5.0 MOSES (22mpg) FG% 43 / TREY % 43 / FT% 67 / Rebs 2.7 / 1 Steals / ppg 9.3
If I'm allocating PT based on game performance MOSES clearly has the upper hand while demonstrating a consistent level of effectiveness.

I agree with WGT’s comment about Schmidt defending Daryl with “would not throw him under the bus. I can see his reason for protecting his player who has played poorly all season.” My complaint is Daryl having the 2nd most PT on the team. Always believed PT is earned from results on the court during games. Decided to watch replay of the game to see who Daryl defended, as I questioned Schmidt’s following comments. Completely confused by Schmidt’s following comment about Daryl “He’s not playing well. Not shooting the ball; he’s defending the ball OK,” Schmidt explained. “We need our good players to play better, and hopefully he can do that.” — Have to wonder about Schmidt’s comment about Daryl “defending the ball ok.” Fordham’s leading scorers of the game (Medor and Rose) were both defended by Daryl. — Opening tip had Daryl on Rose and then Medor. For almost entire 2nd half Daryl guarded Medor. Schmidt adds “Medor was terrific. He really ran the show. Rose hit some big shots.” — Have some surprising news for Schmidt. Daryl “hasn’t been playing well” this entire season. When do you go beyond hoping Daryl starts playing better and give more playing time to Moses? Moses has proven to be a much better player this season. Have to wonder how Moses feel about getting 140 less minutes of PT than Daryl? — In 63 minutes Fordham’s starting guards scored 35 points, compared to Bona’s starting guards scoring 14 points in 65 minutes (Mika 11 points/Daryl 3 points). Right there is the biggest reason for Bonnies losing by 6 points. We can break down the offense or the defense, but it comes down as simple as this. You can’t have a player receiving the 2nd most playing time on the team shooting 29% from the field and 27% from 3s. Even made worse with the player attempting the 3rd most shots and 2nd most 3 pointers on the team. This is a lot for any team to overcome. Correction for Doctor G. Daryl is beyond a shooting slump. His poor shooting started last season and has continued. www.tapinto.net/towns/greater-olean/sections/sports/articles/bona-men-struggle-with-defense-lose-80-74-to-fordham?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Today+s+TAPinto+Greater+Olean+eNews&utm_campaign=Today+s+TAPinto+Greater+Olean+eNews

Below is the +/- for Daryl and Moses in Bona's 5 losses. ......................Daryl..............Moses (rank on team during game) Canisius .........+9 (1st)...........-12 (6th) Auburn ..........-16 (last)..........-6 (2nd) FAU ..............-8 (3rd )..........-5 (1st) Richmond ......-18 (last)..........-3 (3rd) Fordham ........-8 (last)...........0 (3rd) Games won by less than 5 points. ........................Daryl..............Moses Longwood .........-5 (last).........2nd (2nd) Oklahoma St. ....+2 (2nd) .......Did not play Akron ...............-5 (last) ....... +14 (1st) Difficult to understand why Daryl has 140 more minutes of PT (445 to 305). www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/st-bonaventure/men/2024.html
