Regarding last night’s game- we battled. The awful start ( again) hurt us. I I have no idea why.Luc is starting. He has not performed. Holmes got every possible call…objectively. And we got every possible call against us… it happens when u r on the road. I don’t know what to think about Schmidt’s coaching thiz year. The offence struggles alot and maybe because there are too many newbies not yet comfortable with the system. Marc’s game plan yesterday made sense: shut down their shooters and let Holmes do his thing. Unfortunately breathing on the guy sent him to the line. Barry needed to play more. He is so so valuable but Marc had him sitting too much. Still there’s room for hope

You know my concern? Barry will get frustrated about his low PT and bolt to the portal after the season.
Most of us on the board believe Schmidt has underutilized this fellow despite noticeable improvement to Evans's game.
A mystery, puzzle and enigma. Schmidt ought to square things mach schnell or we may lose Barry's talent.

5 point loss on the road against the 21st ranked team in the country and a totally juiced Friday night crowd while playing against a top 20 player in the country! I’m not the type to celebrate losses but that was a pretty respectable showing.
Always places we could have performed better but beating those guys there was a big ask. I think we could go the rest of the way with very few, if any losses.

Schmidt ought to square things mach schnell or we may lose Barry's talent. I think we are at a point where he probably should be starting. I mean, we need to shake things up a bit. Last night's performance was mostly very good besides the two 9-0 runs, but we have to go on a tear to finish top 4. Yes, Dayton is beatable, but if they are the one seed, I think I rather be the six than match up with them in a 1 v. 4 battle. On the other hand, Richmond looks very strong this year, so there's a tough path regardless.

We don’t have a complete strong forward on the team.

We don’t have a complete strong forward on the team. Barry’s defense directly helps our offense. He’s also a good ball handler in transition and can push pace/find teammates. He also had some nice finishes at the rim last night. He’s getting better every game.

I really hope Schmidt stops the charade of benching Woods to start games. The suspension vs Duquesne was enough. What more is he trying to prove?

First - I did not watch the game.
In reviewing online the box score this is my observation: Free Throws - Dayton was 23-29 vs the Good Guys 5-8.. Three Points - Dayton was 3-15 vs the Good Guys 10-30. Bench Points - Dayton 15 vs The Goods Guys 35.
As for Wood coming off the bench, I wouldn't not call it a bad thing. It's possible that Coach wants to let him observe how Dayton is running their offense and defense first. Woods played 35 minutes with 17 points and only 3 -8 from the free throw line.
As I see it great bench play. They needed to make 3 more 3's and go 8 for 8 from the F/T line. That. was the difference between losing and winning.
Keep on choppin - Go Bonnies

So starting Kaputo instead of Lofton or Adams at the point guard would have made sense too? So our all-A10 guys can learn from a sub. What?
Coach is trying to make a point with Woods. We have fallen behind 7-0 the last two games … and struggled to score 12 points in the first “quarter” of games the last month.
If Woods is a detriment to the team then bench him permanently or cut him. Otherwise play your best players once you figure out who that is.
We do not turn over the ball often (only 6 last night) yet we struggle to get good shots too frequently.
Something has to change with the offense … either personnel or style. Losing close games to good teams does not make a team better. Winning those games usually does.
Let’s hope that happens next week vs UMass and the Dukes.

I watch the game. I don't post on the Bandwagon while watching. So , if this was already mentioned, mea culpa. I thought that walk on Chuck after the steal near the end of the game was suspect.

That was just CHUCK's 8th TO of the season! Watching the replay in slow motion it was a bad call.
