To be honest, I am looking forward to when this group of players is gone ... what a waste of a season Agreed. Had this feeling for a few weeks but completely there now. One of my least favorite seasons in my nearly 30 years of being a fan.

Schmidt must be collecting his pay to retire because he hasn't been coaching these kids this year.

A royal ass kicking/butt whupping.
Based on this and other desultory defeats, Bona may be facing an early A10 exit; in the Welk vernacular, a wunnah and-uh dunnah!

Still think Pride might be sick or something, has not played a lot of minutes when, you know, we might need some offense... Pride regularly plays much better at home than on the road...played 22 minutes tonight, same as at Fordham

Schmidt needs to make a statement: sit the players who get all the minutes and play the last 5 guys on the bench ... maybe they will play with some passion Or maybe Schmidt can make a statement by coaching better. How can you have Chuck Pride on your team and can’t figure out how to get him more than 4 shots. This happens every third game. Do you think Pride ever took less than 10 shots in any game at Bryant? He scored 44 pts in a game and it doesn’t matter who it was against. Mind-freakin-boggling. Agreed. Our best 3pt shooter has only 2 shots tonight. Schmidt needs to believe he needs to get as many shots for him as possible.

Not sure it always happens but in first half ball went into Chad,he gets double teamed, Chad looks to pass but other 4 players all spread out at 3 point line, but arched around from mid court to opposite corner. Chad had zero option to pass to. I said why aren't the other 4 players arched around but to the side near to Chad?

Because Schmidt is obsessed with getting the ball to Venning and winning the paint, an offensive strategy that has been out of basketball for years. The ball went to Venning on our first 7 possessions of the game and at that point I knew we were going to lose. I don't care how many points Venning had. While he has the ball, 4 1,000 point players on our team stand around and watch. It should be the other way. We should be creating open looks for our 4 1,000 point scorers and Venning needs to watch. And rebound. But it's never going to change.

Attempting to hazard a prediction on how this team will perform down the stretch and in BKLYN is almost impossible.
I was hoping we would enjoy a TREY point disparity in our favor since we have the better TREY shooters. Clearly not to be.
We loose by 13 with the Explorers enjoying a 12 pt TREY differential in their favor.

Opponents will give him 16 to 22 points and force him into a few turnovers while keeping our shooters in the dark… two of whom shoot better than 40% from deep.

Last year we had a young group and it was understandable that we struggled. This year with additions and experience I expected better. Honestly this group has underachieved and that includes the coach. What seems to be a common thread is the lack of focus and poor defense. Running our offense through Venning is a losing offensive strategy.

They have been a .500 team and there’s nothing to suggest that they’re anything more than that. They should finish 9-9 (maybe 10-8) and I think we all could have seen that a few weeks ago if we were being honest with ourselves. It’s been the same thing in conference for 2 years now. As for Brooklyn, win one, lose one seems like a pretty good bet.

This obsession with feeding Venning on damn near every possession needs to stop. I can’t watch it anymore. It’s so monotonous and predictable.
Charles Pride took 4 shots tonight. What are we doing or trying to accomplish? Sure, Venning gets his numbers but it prevents anyone else from getting in a rhythm. It makes us easy to defend.
When the offense is functioning at its best - it’s through our guards and three point shooting.
I had a bad feeling about tonight’s game, but wow - I didn’t think it would be this bad.

yeah, if you look at the box score- pride, woods, Assa never contributed b/c they didn't put up many shots. I really think we should open it up and let the guards go. Then, it would leave Chad one on one where he can score when he's open. but when we run the offense through him the other 4 players just seem to lose interest which makes sense.

Bonnies under Schmidt have trouble winning at LaSalle. Too many seasons have died at Gola.
Coach Schmidt is having trouble preparing his team for many games this season. We come out flat and with no intensity or emotion.
Coaching staff made little to no halftime adjustments AGAIN … like vs Richmond, Mason, second Duquesne game. Oh yeah, we switched to the matchup zone a few times which didn’t work any better than man.
We had only one guy in double figures until Moses scores a bunch of points when the game was out of hand. Last game we had 5 players scoring 10 or more and another with 8.
Most inconsistent Bona team in decades. Even the effort varies from game to game.
Players who are experienced and talented are underachieving or have gotten worse … why?
