Time to move on. Loyola is currently first in the league. We all know that if we play well we can win. SBU is on break this week. I hope locals and traveling alumni can pick up the slack. It is supposed to be 60 degrees Tuesday. A perfect day to travel to SBU. Go Bonas!

Valentine has done a great job in his second year in the Atlantic 10 and brought in a few key transfers while returning some key pieces. They have virtually no shot of getting an at large bid, but they have rebounded tremendously from last year's 4-14 mark. The Ramblers have a great defense and will be a tough out at home.

My daughter went to Illinois in Urbana for post grad. I told her she was now a "Fighting Illini" - she thought i made up the name. Did not think any school would go by what she thought was a ridiculous nickname. Greg's mom has been a long time BB coach in Buffalo.

Did we even offer Dolen? We usually don’t compete with Cornell for players so I don’t think it can be said he slipped away. I don’t know but my guess is he was a very marginal D1 candidate coming out of high school.

Bonnies will play their best game of the season and beat the Ramblers. I don’t make a lot of predictions but just a feeling. We seem to play well against the better teams on the schedule except for Auburn.
LOC is no more talented than VCU or Dayton (probably less). They certainly don’t have the size and muscle of Dayton. Ramblers do have scoring balance, they pass the ball extremely well and look to push the pace. They had 24 assists and a 20-4 edge in fast-break points in an 80-59 rout of GM last weekend.
Alston, Watson and Edwards all are 6-6 wings who are active on both ends. Watson and Edwards shoot better than 40% from deep. Loyola’s bigs don’t look to score often and don’t appear to have the strength to contend with Chad one on one — or Noel. They do have three centers who see action.
LOC has won 7 straight since losing to VCU a month ago. Also lost to Richmond. Won’t face Dayton until this Friday.

Alston will be a load. I dont love the matchup. Often when opponents play tight defense this team gets befuddled and Loyola plays tight defense.
one thing we have going for us is that this team plays so much better when they can generate turnovers and Loyola does have a weakness there
