yeah... he better get use to it. Who was a high rated pg that committed to bona's and left for Rutgers I believe? Eli Carter??? Noah waterman was coming to SBU and backed out for BYU. That team did not look like a 12-2 conference team tonight. Bigcat, you called the win and predicted that outcome.

I missed the first half of the game. Viewed the first 10 minutes via replay on demand after watching the second half live. That worked better for my nerves!!
It was another one of our dreadful starts (down 9-2 and totally out of sync). Banks entered the game after the first TV break to spark a 12-0 run… which stretched to a 17-2 run.
The defense picked up. We had more energy. Chad made some buckets. Moses was flying around causing havoc and hitting a three. Banks had his best minutes of the season during that stretch to help turn the game around. Pride did not play well early. Banks was the man … his 4 pt play stopped a mini Loyola run with 9:50 left in the half.
Amazed how this team and some players are so fickle. It’s obvious we can win the A10 tourney if/when all our guys are in the right mindset and making shots — but it’s hard to get comfortable with this group.
We face two bad teams in our final week. Can we finally put together a 4-game win streak in league and head to Brooklyn as one of the A10 favorites?

Good thing Valentine had this game circled for Loyola. Who knows how bad we would have beaten them if it had just been a regular game.

I thought this pre-game video was interesting --- www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OJvmFgMIeELooking at the Box Scores 26 of 29 from the Free Throw line, 50% 3 point shots BUT second half shows that both teams scored 38 points. Good thing the Bonnies outscore Loyola in the first half. 38 points off the bench. When is the last time Bonas had such a big bench contribution? What team will show up for the next game? Go Bonnies

Thoughts from unexpected blowout. — Daryl was the clear MVP of this game with 26 points. Shot a solid 4 of 8 from 3s. Four 3s is the 2nd most 3s Daryl has made this season. Daryl’s skill at drawing fouls was on full display last night. He scored 12 points from the line. How about this for a surprising stat? Daryl has just 1 less foul shot attempt (70-69) than Chuck, who battles inside and is always looking to take it to the basket, compared to Daryl who is more of a jump shooter. Hopefully Daryl has found his jump shot. Bonnies would be a dangerous team with Daryl hitting jump shots. —BigCat’s “Moses was flying around causing havoc” is a perfect description of Moses’ game last night. Moses had an incredible game high 5 steals (next highest was 2) but Moses also led the Bonnies with 4 turnovers. Perfect play to describe “Moses causing havoc” was Moses making a steal along the sideline near mid court. Moses momentum had him going out of bounds. All of a sudden I’m thinking no Moses as he threw the ball back toward Loyola’s basket. Ball went between 2 Loyola players to Chad. Moses havoc play was critical at the start of the game with Bonnies struggling with their offense. — Barry needs to be recognized for his solid game. Again he scored only 2 points, with what Bill Russell would called a high percentage shot (a dunk). Barry was 2nd with 6 rebounds, but what really stood out was his 4 blocks. Curious when was the last time a Bonnie had 4 blocks in a game. If you wonder about Barry’s impact on a game, all you have to do is look at the +/- stat. Barry had a +14 the third highest in last night’s game. — Chad thrives when teams do not double down on him on the low blocks. Loyola had 3 big men defending Chad (Rubin, Adelekun and Welch). Altogether they had 11 fouls defending Chad. Chad finished with 18 points in just 21 minutes of PT. Very impressive aspect of this 15 point win over Loyola was it being accomplished with Mika and Chuck having a difficult game. Mika was 0-5 from the field and Chuck had just a +3 in a 15 point win. If all the parts click (along with Daryl’s jump shot) the Bonnies will be a dangerous team in the A-10 Tournament. s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/sidearm.nextgen.sites/gobonnies.sbu.edu/documents/2024/2/27/Game_28_Box_-_Loyola.PDFwww.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/daryl-banks-iii-1/gamelog/2024www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/st-bonaventure/men/2024.html

We gain only two spots from 71 to 69 on the NET due to Loyola's NET not being too hot.

We gain only two spots from 71 to 69 on the NET due to Loyola's NET not being too hot. There in lies the issue with the A10. We beat the first place team by 15 and it’s a yawner in the NET ranking world. Great win regardless!

Given that we were at home and favored by around 3-4 pts, that's not all too surprising.

We beat the first place team by 15 and it’s a yawner in the NET ranking world. Great win regardless! Speaking of the NET ranking world, how is it possible that the 7th ranked conference, the Mountain West, is set to get 6 bids, including 5 At-Large bids and the 8th ranked conference, the A-10, will get only 1 bid if Dayton wins the tournament and 1 At-large if they don't. How is that possible? And what exactly does Bernadette McGlade actually do?
