Bonnies will play their best game of the season and beat the Ramblers. I don’t make a lot of predictions but just a feeling. We seem to play well against the better teams on the schedule except for Auburn. LOC is no more talented than VCU or Dayton (probably less). They certainly don’t have the size and muscle of Dayton. Ramblers do have scoring balance, they pass the ball extremely well and look to push the pace. They had 24 assists and a 20-4 edge in fast-break points in an 80-59 rout of GM last weekend. Alston, Watson and Edwards all are 6-6 wings who are active on both ends. Watson and Edwards shoot better than 40% from deep. Loyola’s bigs don’t look to score often and don’t appear to have the strength to contend with Chad one on one — or Noel. They do have three centers who see action. LOC has won 7 straight since losing to VCU a month ago. Also lost to Richmond. Won’t face Dayton until this Friday. A big win tonight could have a galvanizing effect on this squad. BCat - hope you didn't give us the K.O.D.

Read the Dolan story in the bn Another wny player who slipped away… We can only wish that the Buffalo News gave us this kind of coverage. Rachel Lenzi and the Buffalo News sports department don’t know we exist 95% of the time. Was a time not that long ago that they had in person coverage at virtually all of our home games. Now? Maybe once or twice a season while Rachel drools over the 4 win SUNY Amherst program.

Bucky Gleason used to write about us. His son is Bona class of 2024. He works in real estate now

It’s partially geography, and staffing. Rachel Lenzi covers all wny college hoops ub is in Buffalo, so’s Canisius ….Niagara is is in the falls. Bona is an hour and a half drive When the News was sold. To a midwestern publisher it sold its local printing facility The news is now printed in…Cleveland. Local stories can not meet next day deadlines There is a similar situation at the times herald…now printed in Bradford…less staffing at both papers and fewer local roots. The same with local radio…gone The th no longer prints on Sundays and Mondays Lenzi provides great coverage, but bona is just a small part of her job.

Hope to see Steve Watson back in the RC tomorrow. Expect he will hit Angees for a meal and stop in the Burton where his dad, God Rest his soul, enjoyed Burton Burgers for lunch. Last time I saw him was there.
Delighted to see Steve's success with the Ramblers and his attendance at the Fordham game at Rose Hill. However tomorrow I wish him no luck.
Ramblers have been awesome defying all predictions!

Valentine the Loyola coach trashed our guy Charles Pride in their post game presser over the weekend
Pride simply chose us over them and Drew Valentine trashes his character. I hope Pride has a huge game tonight

Valentine the Loyola coach trashed our guy Charles Pride in their post game presser over the weekend Pride simply chose us over them and Drew Valentine trashes his character. I hope Pride has a huge game tonight Where’s the quote? Im looking for a transcript and/or actual footage. He specifically brought up Charles Pride and said things like Pride telling him their team was not good enough for him ... "AND other things that I can't talk about" led him to St. Bonaventure. Seems odd that he would single out Pride like that and still try to sit on the fence with "things I can't talk about" either way, I hope Pride stuffs it in his face . God forbid Pride want to play in his home state with his best friend and an assistant that he enjoys playing for. Shocking lol

This is a stout test, folks, one I want Bona to ace. This is Loyola's RC debut so they have little idea what noise the Nation can generate.
Will Bona be able to bang and hang with the Ramblers? From I recall of Valley ball, those teams hit the boards HARD so Our Guys must match their physicality.
The fact that LUC is back to winning form makes this matchup delectable.

The Ramblers greatest asset is their D. #38 D in the NCCAA. Closely followed by their teamwork as the #1 conference team creating 17 Assists a game!
#2 in blocks aids their ability to stifle offenses. Adelekun is #2 in Blocks! They are #1 in the A10 keeping opponents to .396 FG%.
No surprise they received 1 vote for Top 25 AP Poll.
In their 7 straight wins they kept opponents to 28% TREYs & 39% FGs. Tough D!!!
They turn it over 12.8 a game (#10 in conf). An area of their game we might exploit.
NORRIS is a super floor general #3 in Assists (4.9).
They have very balanced scoring with WATSON tops at 14.2 ppg.
EDWARDS 44% TREYS, WATSON 43% TREYS, & Norris 44% TREYS are a deep concern. However they don't rely on the TREY as they make up 39% of their shots.
We have the ability to beat them off the offensive glass which would be a plus.
We are the #2 TREY % shooting team in The conference to challenge their excellent TREY D.
It will be important to step up to their level of physicality. Most have been beaten up by their aggressive physical play.
Arguably the TOUGHEST game for the rest of the season.

You can take Loyola out of The Valley, but you cannot take The Valley out of Loyola.
That conference has been renowned for physical battles through the decades. Once they got their baptism in the A10 last season, the Ramblers have adjusted since.
They can pound with anyone and as wgt attested, their D is first-rate.
