Don't know. It might not be true. It's also possible that it might be part of a two for one. FWIW, Bucknell is not the worst team in the PL. They finished tied for 2nd last year, seeded 4th for the PL tournament. Rated 3rd best by kenpom. Noted, Res. I don't know why I thought they were worse than they actually were last year. Perhaps I am thinking of two years ago? Nonetheless, thank you for the correction.

No D2s ever Hopefully with our new AD he comes in with a better plan for scheduling next year and beyond. I can give a mulligan for this season as we went most of the scheduling season without an AD I could be wrong but isn't the DOBO the one that makes the schedule, not the AD? Yeah but athletic department connections go a long way

This can't possibly be true. Not only are they a D-II team, they quite possibly could be the worst D-II basketball team in the country. In the last 6 years, their record is 35-129. As we have seen in the past, this is a recipe for an injury playing against inferior athletes. Imagine being a season ticket holder and having Alfred, Cal State Northridge, LeMoyne and Mansfield as the first four home games of the season. Brutal. What are we doing???

Mansfield? What a joke. We really need to reevaluate our scheduling. That is something inferior programs like Canisius and Niagara do.

They host Richmond.

What’s Mansfield have to do with this? Apparently, Gannon was unavailable.

Damn, my bad, I misread the link, I thought it was Bucknell. In any event, it’s an early season tune up for a group that will need to learn to play as a team. I assume the staff didn’t want to rake on anything too challenging at that point of the season. But I agree I’d prefer we were done with D2 opponents by November 20th, but obviously someone disagrees. Are we paying them to come to the RC?

What about Daemen (Bona alumnus Mike Macdonald is the coach) or nearby Roberts Wesleyan (in suburban Rochester)--both D2. Really, Mansfield? This is not a wise scheduling move. Mercyhurst is going D1 and Gannon is currently D2 (might be gong D1 in the near future from what I was told recently). Wow, that's a rough one to swallow. It's the game before Thanksgiving Day. The season ticket holders will be ticked off with that early home slate. Let's hope they secure an A-10 home game over the holidays in Rochester. Early January is the target date before the kids get back from the mid semester break. Looking back, a Patriot League team would have been a good get (especially Colgate).
