To generate substantial basketball revenue, we should schedule as the first exhibition game the Washington Generals in NYC as I'm sure the turnout would be huuuuggge! That is of course if we can't get the Harlem Globetrotters to play us. Schmidt could learn a few new plays to add to his repertoire. those teams are old news, we should play the Savannah Bananas instead. Although that guy with the stilts will be tough to stop in the post! One of the Bananas, Ryan Cox is actually a Bona baseball alum!

Thought there was a thread on this, but I couldn’t find it. Some recent news. Rocco Miller posted we’ll host Le Moyne Nov. 16. There was also an unconfirmed report about hosting Cal St. Northridge on Nov. 5. SBUnfurled mentioned we’d be in the ESPN Events Invitational. But that is rumored to split the P5 teams from the rest. So it’s an unknown if that’s 2 or 3 games. Anyhow, in addition to those, you have to assume Buffalo (H), Niagara (H), Canisius (A), Siena (A) and I’ll throw the return game for FGCU (A) on there as it was a late scratch last year. That’s already 9-10 games without anything to look forward to (if the rumor is true on the ESPN event). Hoping for some news, good news at that, soon. Anyone hearing anything else?

We announced our non conference schedule on June 21 last year. What is going on with this?
Are we the last team in the country to announce a schedule?

We go through this every year. No, Bona is not the last team to announce the schedule. Sometimes teams don't announce until October. Right now we fans know the majority of OOC opponents. We don't necessarily know dates. I suspect there are other opponents Bona has already agreed to but haven't yet settled on a date.
For example, a normally reliable Bucknell poster has said Bona is playing there, date uncertain. I imagine there are other conversations going on. Once all those negotiations finish and dates are settled, they'll announce.
I, for one, can wait.

Thanks for letting me negotiations aren’t finished and that’s why they haven’t announced. Rocket science there.

You seem to have overlooked my qualifier "sometimes", haha. And, as you seem to agree that teams don't announce until the schedule is set, I'm not at all clear what the angst is about.

You lost me at “Playing at Bucknell” 🫤 I have no knowledge either way. That is what a usually reliable poster indicated on the Bucknell message board.

No offense to Bucknell, but why are we playing the worst team in the Patriot League H&H, but ducking the best ivys and Tulane? If we are in fact playing Bucknell H&H, then that’s a big blunder on Schmidt and Co. We have so few Q1/2 games on our schedule but we are so in love with playing as many q3/4 teams as possible.

Don't know. It might not be true. It's also possible that it might be part of a two for one.
FWIW, Bucknell is not the worst team in the PL. They finished tied for 2nd last year, seeded 4th for the PL tournament. Rated 3rd best by kenpom.

No D2s ever
Hopefully with our new AD he comes in with a better plan for scheduling next year and beyond.
I can give a mulligan for this season as we went most of the scheduling season without an AD
