Always a great feeling to beat the Griff's, and tonight the Bonnies beat them soundly. Great second half. Road win to build a dream on. I love the speed and penetration ability of this team, and the ability to hit the boards. If it was not for Canisius uncanny ability to hit a million 3's it would of been a total blow out win. Onwards and upwards with the new Brown and White speed burners.

Our drivers created scoring chances and got us to the line. Love seeing it! I also love how every three by Canisius seemed to be answered by us. We never let them build momentum. Great win! Onto the next!!!

Remind me again, does Chance have 2 years of eligibility or just this year?

Really nice win. Shot the rock better, with shoutouts to Chance and Melvin for nice scoring outputs. Chance also helped at D end w 3 blk.
That McMillan fellow for Canisius must be pretty good. Efficient 31 pts.

I like what I am seeing from Duane Thompson. He is aggressive getting to the rim and I hope we see more of that as he going to draw fouls.

I was highly entertained today watching the game on the Plus. Griffs kept it interesting. Credit to them. Our guys are fun to watch and look like they enjoy playing together. Not sure I saw much of that last year.
In fact I remember posting a few times that our guys last season went through the motions and looked disjointed — never seemed to buy into Schmidt’s system totally.
Bowen is a nice fit for Coach’s system and style. He’s intelligent, under control and so unselfish. Chance and Council are super quick and athletic.
We are deep and talented. It’s just two games. Consistency was our downfall last season (effort especially) … but I certainly have a better feeling about this team.
Keep chopping wood!

It was a great matchup between 2 players, who have not lived up to their extremely impressive high school press clippings. You have Paul McMillan winning Ohio's Gatorade State Player of the Year Award and was Rivals 126th best recruit in the country going against Chance Moore a four-star recruit … Rated 84th nationally by ESPN … Sports Illustrated All-American finalist and McDonald’s All-American nominee. Today they looked everything like the player suggested by their press clippings. McMillan was a one man wrecking crew scoring 31 points with an incredible 11 of 15 shooting from the field for 73.3%. He even shot better from 3s making 75% on 3-4 shots. Chance also had an impressive day shooting making 9 of 13 shots for 69.2% from the field. Chance scored 4 less points, but had a more complete game contributing on the boards (6 rebounds), blocking shots (3) and steals (2). Mind you extreme majority of these shots were jump shots or highlight reel dives to the basket. A very impressive matchup between 2 stars on the court. I knew Chance would be good, but I had no idea in the first 2 games, he would develop into a star for the Bonnies. njithighlanders.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/paul-mcmillan-iv/7674arkansasrazorbacks.com/roster/chance-moore/

My unsung hero of the game was Dasonte. Big key of the game was penetration created holes in Canisius defense. Biggest contributor to this effective penetration was Dasonte. He was also very effective taking it all the way to the basket, scoring or getting fouled. Dasonte is a great example of the role for a PG. Throw in he is also a great man defender too.

So often, pre season predictions claim we have a deep bench. Typically that's not the case.
After 3 games I believe its safe to say we indeed have a deep bench as evidenced by playing 10 each game and seeing 5 double digit scorers today on the road.
Glad we displayed better shot selection. 33% of our shots were TREY attempts today. Until we see a few guys who are deadly from deep I feel its a healthy strategy.
Back to back games we rebounded well (+14 today!) and got to the stripe the 2nd half. Very few whistles the first half. We took 3 FTs while Griffs took just 2.
Attacking and getting to the line pays dividends. We took 24 FTs to their 12. We hit on 83% resulting in +10 pts from the charity line. 1 more than the margin of victory.
Last game at the RC Adam Bennett, our color commentator (and once the RC's youngest public address announcer), made the point that when games are tight we will see BOWEN taking it to the iron at the end of games. Today with 1:25 on the clock, Griffs had pulled to within 8. BOWEN slashes and scores to go up 10. Had he missed and Griff's come back and make another TREY its a 5 pt game with time for a comeback upset. I find ADAM to be the best color guy for our games. He provides keen insight and instant analysis of a play. Wish we had more of him if his Salamanca coaching schedule allows.
