Or grow a pair of testicles and don't just lump everyone into 'troll' status for being more upset about a loss than you are. Either one.

So you just joined the board tonight and every post has reeked of trolling. I am upset as anyone but I am also realistic. Im still waiting for nyc to accept my offer. Easy money. Anyone who refers to us as St Bonaventure, is not from here. Do your homework next time

Siena got outrebounded badly 52-32 but held on for the win due to their balanced attack (5 double scorers) and only 5 turn overs.
Both teams were dreadful from the stripe but their 32 frees to our 24 was a factor as well. Agree with CoachSBU that Patsos really got in the zebra's ears early on. But the loss was not on the refs. Just didn’t help the cause. Marcus, Dion & Andell were solid performers. Siena simply had more contributors tonight.
Going into the season I was concerned that the loss of Charlon (#1 in assist/turn overs & #2 ins most assists in the conference) would be a huge loss. Expecting Iakeem & frosh Jay to come anywhere near close to that level of play is unrealistic.
As a team the Saints had a 4.2 A/TO ratio. A remarkable demonstration of working together & finishing even though they essentially shot as poorly as us. We had more turnovers than assists & Marcus (2 guard) had the most assists. At games end he was playing some PG & holds this short season's longest trey of the year. After 2 games he has made 38% of his treys but has shown ability to take it to the hole strong & finish.
As expected the point will have a steep learning curve for Jay & Iakeem. Our overall poor play was exploited by an experienced team who took super care of the ball. I expect some very spirited practices in preparation for the Griffs!!

Another piece this team is lacking is a M SIMMONS type forward, maybe somewhat for his rebounding but a forward like SIMMONS would make YOUSSOU much more effective. Since DEES does not really play along side of YOUSSOU he is not the answer. One thing SIMMONS did was take the opponents' larger PFs out of the game or at least slow them down. It will be interesting to see how the staff fills the last 2 ships, as of now next year's team has no wider body type frontliner. I am not as confident as others that there is a A10 ready 4 or 5 that can be recruited to come right in and play, hope I am wrong.

Good game guys- Bonnies are a good team. Biggest difference in game was at Point guard, Siena is very fortunate to have sophomore Marquis Wright, who had 15 points, 8 assists and only 2 turnovers. Siena is still a very young team (dominated by sophomores) Bonnies killed us on boards, Siena is still adjusting to losing our Center Imoh Silas to season ending torn ACL. So we have sophomores and freshmen manning the Center spot. As your freshmen PG gets better so will the Bonnies. See you guys next year at the Times Union Center

The new guards put in 22 and 3 points but it was not lost there.
The Siena fan pointed out they are adjusting because they lost their starting center to injury.
Our upperclassmen front court had the following: Youssou benched for 5 minute stretches despite only 1 PF for the game - played 28mins with no foul issues. Youssou scores 4 points Dion Wright scores 8 points. Dion Wright shot no free throws in a game with many fouls called.
Dion Wright was written up preseason in Sports Illustrated and Schmidt has mentioned Youssou as a possible NBA 2nd rd pick. I should not be expecting a new back court to carry the day given our experience in the front court
Lets hope we turn it around !

jh, I agree that it is an understatement that Youssou did not play well. Nonetheless, all of the frontcourt but especially Youssou depend on the guards to get them the ball in a position to score. That just wasn't happening. I can count on one hand the number of offensive sets I saw run last night.

I agree with JH and from the outset said that the key to our season is Dion and YN. I guess my post got Siena's attention because both guys seemed to hardly touch the ball and my guess is it was because of Siena's defense. The middle seemed clogged up at both ends of the court all night. We will have our challenges as I would put Siena as a middle of the pack A10 type team at this point. I believe they were picked to be either first or second MAAC preseason. The run and gun action from last night needed to be adjusted by our coach from the midpoint of the first half. We are down 13-14 points and are just flying down the court trying to pick up a fast break point kept us buried from the beginning. Schmidt needs to get a rotation set by A10 play or it will be a long season for the Brown and White. Few observations. Guys in general not making the extra pass led to a lot of bad shots. The PG position will improve as the kids get more experience but our two captains need to lead by example. Very disappointed with Youssou's game tonight. You figure after sitting out the first game he would have been dominant defensively and chipped in with 10 or more points. Dion never seemed to have the ball at the right spot so he struggled to find any kind of offensive rhythm. We need to come out and play a lot better game or JB will figure out a way for Canisius to win on Saturday. One thing I would like to say about the "rule" to keep things to one thread. If half the thread is going to be a back and forth with a "troll" I will be starting a new thread that sticks to the game or something about the game.

quickly scanned this thread and most of the comments are just outrageous. Guess im in the minority when i say ill take a bunch of positives from this game. These early OOC games are scheduled for this reason: work out kinks, see where production will come from, and allow your vets/leaders to get back in the flow of things. Funny how everyone becomes and expert and thinks they know this team inside and out after two games.

If someone is going to troll, bd, starting a new thread is pointless. They will troll in that thread, as well. The simplest thing to do is block them (or simply ignore them, it's not as hard as it seems once you put your mind to it).

That just wasn't happening. I can count on one hand the number of offensive sets I saw run last night. This. Guards did not seem to make much of an effort to get the ball into the post. Vermont torched Siena down low a few days ago, there is no reason we shouldnt have done the same. I hated the shot selection last night. Jacking up 3's when we have numbers in transition is not the right move. It was one of the worst offensive games I have seen in a long time. I am hoping they are able to use this as a way to improve because otherwise you have to throw out the game footage completely.

Chalk it up as a learning experience. There are a lot of new and young players here you had to think it would take some time to gel. Ndoye did not play well but to be fair the guards were not getting the ball down low in the Siena zone.
A talented team lost to an experienced team. It happens everywhere in Div 1. It's a little frustrating to see happen to us but that is what the OOC is for. No reason to jump off the ledge.
Hopefully some of the younger/new players learn from the experience. You can't play street ball at this level and win consistently. Expect Canisius to bring a heavy dose of 2-3 zone with them on saturday after scouting this game.
