There are very few bad seats in the reds for visibility, unless your eyesight is that bad...smh

Lack of entertainment in Olean? In this era, there is no such thing. People have too much entertainment, too many options to choose from. Kids don't even play basketball, much less watch it. When I was young, every boy in the neighborhood, met at every opportunity to have a pickup game in the "sport of the season". We all we rabid fans of many teams. Today, there a whole group of kids that never take their eyes from their smart phone. Families who hover on the internet (on separate computers). If you want to watch a movie, stream it to almost any device. Even the ones that want to watch sports, stream it to almost any device.
For the school size and population base, Bonas does better than maybe any other school in the country. Complain all you want, but I don't think you realize how good the support is for Bona basketball compared to many other schools in the country. In my view, the support is almost unbelievable in today's world.

They are just stating for the price and the given level of the team...sometimes its worth it and sometimes i'd rather watch OHS for $3 or sometimes rather watch on PC. Just win baby and that price becomes a bargain for the higher level. Dont blame the fans they are simply the market responding to variables. Recruit well, coach well - the consumers will follow!!

Best entertainment value in the area...OHS hoops...great teams;LOW cost ....the red at bona have poor visibility the cost is exorbitant, the teams and opposition mediocre. This has to be a joke. Tickets are as low as $10. You can see nationally ranked teams for as low as $14. There are probably family packages that make those tickets cheaper. Concessions are dirt cheap. Poor visibility? In a 6000 seat arena? OHS Hoops? What planet is this?

There are many, many, reasons why attendance isn't what it used to be. Although, I will say , it's not bad for these days. A team ranked in the top......25 might pack the place. An 8 game winning streak might pack the place. If you are looking for some answers tho.....look westward to Toledo. How did that Toledo women's team put 3550 in the stands vs Bonnies?

Seeing a nationally ranked team doesn't have the same draw to the gate as it did decades ago (I didn't realize that Dartmouth was nationally ranked). Now you turn on your favorite viewing device and can catch several ranked teams playing on a given night...all from the comfort of your couch.
Attendance dropped after the switch to half-sized wieners several years ago. Half-size wieners stuck inside soggy buns aren't going to make for a titillating atmosphere. Sure, you can dress it up with some condiments but lets face it, after munching at the snack shack that stuff just sits in your gut like a rock and so it's hard to rise up.

Going to olean ahS game instead of div 1 st Bona game is ridiculous.......you would think the bonnies would attract people from Bradford, Ellicotville and other neighboring towns! I love the tailgating idea, etc.......make it an event!

I didn't make that clear......attendance would increase IF Bonnies WERE a top 25 team.........and the hot dogs were Sahlen

Consider decreasing/flat/aging local population numbers, flattening wages, combined with disposable income issues of - higher housing, utility, food, medical, transportation costs, etc., relative to income and I think it just becomes tougher to overcome the inertia of just hanging out at home and watching watevever is on the cable you've already paid for. It's one thing if you can get up, take a short drive and feel you were seeing one of the best teams in the country, quite another to see what has become a middling team in a good, but not great, league. And as I can attest to from personal knowledge, as folks get older that inertia to hunker down at home under the covers in front of the tube becomes overwhelming. Certainly the scandal alienated many, completely ruining the image of the little school that played fair but could compete with or beat anyone. That's been dispelled forever I fear. It is a tough combination to overcome. Of course if we can be viewed as getting on a comeback roll, enough mo can be created to keep the Reds full enough to survive, and thrive.

njbonnie08 You are obviously a student of the game. But, there are many people that just to go to games for something to do. To them it doesn't matter if its Olean HS, Pitt Bradford or the Little Sisters of the Poor. Cheap seat and something to do. Just the way it is.
Some people have no concept of what they are watching on the court. They see a HS player make 5 three's in a game, and they can't understand why a DI player misses a layup over 6'8" player with a 30" vertical. It is mind boggling to me that they don't comprehend or appreciate the difference between the levels of the game, but it is what it is.
I go to almost every Bona women's game too. I see people that at are every women's game and never go to a men's game. Why? They like the way the girls play. They say the girls are better shooters, better passers, etc, etc.
