We should have gotten the ball to dion instead of Jay shooting that 3 dion had success in the post all night long. We did not need a 3 being down by 1,but Jay is only a freshman he will learn.

Jay's three pointer was a freshman mistake, the same one he mad in the Siena game I believe. And, if he was going to take a shot he should have taken it with less time on the clock. He will learn as you said.

Now we go on the road to face an 0-10 Delaware team and, believe it or not, we might be an underdog in Vegas. Think about that for a moment.

Couple more thoughts: I, like a lot of posters, like when the BONNIES go into 1-3-1 zone however if it is not causing turnovers, it leaves shooters open. I give UMES's coach a lot of credit of going smaller and having his best outside shooters out there. I t has been said on this board how much YOUSOO misses MARQUIS SIMMONS, tonight showed how much the team misses a SIMMONS like player. MYERS was a beast tonight, we really did not have a good match up against him. While COACH SCHMIDT likes the lean, athletic types, a little girth is needed out there at times and apparently DEES is not the answer.

Just one simple thought.......we are not as good as many thought, and we are not as bad as we played tonight.

After a bad half (2 of the last 3 were bad), down 12 we tied it up in just 7 mins of the 2nd half. So with 13 mins left in the game, up 1, on our home court, momentum swung to us, crowd getting into it, figuring UMES’s torrid TREY shooting would cease I thought things looked promising for a W.
But with the game on the line UMES outplayed us in the final 13 mins. Stamina was mentioned as a possible factor as we had only 25 bench minutes to their 67 mins. That could be, but Dion played 40 mins to lead all players & proved to be the most effective player on the floor for either team over that stretch run.
After we took the lead, Dion went 4-4, blocked a shot and was 1-1 from the stripe. Uncharacteristically he had 4 TOs for the game but also had a career high 4 steals.
Had just one of his teammates come close to his performance DOWN THE STRETCH we would be at 8-2.
Almost all stats were in our favor. Their 59% TREYS for 30 points was the single greatest factor in their win.

Hate to say this but this is a game we very well could lose. We have one full day of rest under our belt, we go into this game thinking "we can beat these guys", empty Riley Center, Players are probably looking forward to a very well deserved few days off after this game if we win (Christmas and Christmas Eve) Dont want to be a pessimist but this is a game that scares me a bit. I know there is a good chance of me being wrong and i hope that i am. Go Bonnies Really hate to say I told you so

Sidenote: The UMES radio guy, in his post game coach's interview said this was UMES's biggest win in their last 40 years.

fjs64...the OOC schedule we have played gives me no idea how good or bad we are. If you look at our wins many pointed to Ohio. Well that "good" win is against a team sporting a 3-5 record as of today. Give me a 5-5 record and play three games against ACC, Big East and Big10 schools and you will know where our strengths and weaknesses lie. Come on WGT...we should be 8-2...take a look at who the 7 wins came against. CC, NU, Dartmouth, Jackson State, Ohio, Binghamton and Buffalo. I don't think that prepares you for league play. Let's knock off Delaware next week.

Has anybody considered the fact that UMES just shot an unbelievable percentage? It was like the Iona game two years ago. Before everybody burns their SBU diplomas and sweatshirts take a deep breath and calm down. A bad loss it was the end of Bona as we know it was not.

I came on here for overreaction and you guys didn't disappoint. Everyone calm down and breathe. Bonas is not an at large team, therefore rpi means nothing. 18 conference games will decide how this team is overall. If you looked at the offensive stats and didn't know the score you would have said bonas won. Umes played their game of the year and hats off to them... Moving on

It's a tough break but the sun will come up this morning (I think)
