I watched the ga tech vs syracuse game last night. Ga tech is not a good high major basketball game team at all. It was painful, neither team broke 50 pts

Highflyer, I'm not saying last year's game is a good predictor for tomorrow. Just interesting to inquire why players who didn't register last year will take charge now and why the ones who did well should not be expected to repeat. Flyers have been winning lately by shooting the three; tomorrow's outcome is largely dependent on whether the shots keep dropping, and that goes for the Bonnies' side as well. I don't expect that either. Sibert and Pierre are still Dayton's best players. Just wanted to describe what has changed about us, which is primarily that our sophomore class (Pollard, Kyle Davis, Scoochie Smith) has been given a large role this season, and have been really good so far. Sibert and Pierre are still the leaders. Dayton has been shooting the three well, but the key has been that they are getting really good shots. Their 3pt shooting numbers are high in the last 4 games and probably can't be maintained, but it helps that they are taking open looks from kick outs and rotations. Good luck Bonnies. Stay warm.

Long trip in cold weather. Dayton will come out cold and SBU must jump on them early. SBU cannot come up with empty offensive possessions early in the game as they did in their previous losses.

Long trip in cold weather. Dayton will come out cold and SBU must jump on them early. From your keyboard to God's Ears. I'm never shocked when teams come out shooting the heck out of the ball in the RC. It's the perfect shooter's gym. I'm also over the idea that we're at an advantage due to teams' travel lengths/weather issues. Remember last year when URI's plane couldn't get out? They came in playing awful basketball, arrived the day of the game and kicked us all over the floor. Earlier this year Siena had just played a game 28 hours ago, we had a week to prep...they came out and just shoot the heck out of the ball....I hope you're right but I put zero faith in thinking travel issues will aid us anymore....I think a lot of times that adversity helps teams play better. www.thebonablog.com

Good point on teams experiencing travel problems coming to RC & playing great.
But why do you say the RC "Its the perfect shooter's gym."

I was going to sarcastically post that the RC is obviously shooters gym after the UMES game. Chose to restrain myself. Interesting to see you post that in earnest.
As for travel, fatique, etc. These are college kids. Do you remember what you did on a couple hours sleep when you were there? How about those epic roadtrips in bad weather? Did any of that slow you down? Visiting teams may actually be a bit better off showing up and getting right at it instead of doing study hall, hanging around getting bored, etc.

I know this question was not directed to me, but I do agree with njbonnie08 that the RC is a perfect shooters gym because of the background behind the baskets. No deep end bleachers like a large venue. But, not tonight.

Just what Oldcoach said, the RC has a backdrop right behind the basket which makes it easier to shoot. I've had players from teams tell me the RC is one of their favorite rims to shoot on. When we played at the Carrier Dome I remember shooting during the shoot-around...it was impossible. Beyond hard to judge the distance of the basket when nothing is behind it for yards....really hard to explain unless you've tried it. www.thebonablog.com

Baron was watching us once, I cant believe he didnt offer a scholarship on the spot.

If it is a shooter's gym, then shouldn't we benefit as much or more than visitors?
