The CAA will get one team in the NCAA and I would expect Hofstra will be in the mix but we played them at home and should have put a little more into stopping them. You are not talking about a powerhouse here. Bonnies have their work cut out for them this year as they struggle on the defensive end. 52 is a lot of points in 20 minutes. That is the perspective I see.

Dobber, Don't disagree with any of that, but Hofstra is widely considered a better team than us right now by any college hoops metrics (FWIW). No doubt the D was an issue but they are a team that plays fast and loose and so this was somewhat expected. Still, the lost at home does sting. www.thebonablog.com

thanks for all of that but few people are saying your comments are wrong ....we are just saying you don't mock your school on opposing fan base message boards. There is a difference between writing a constructive critical article in a blog read by bonaventure community and what you do which is amusing an opposing fan base by taking pot shots at your own school. That's the problem period. It's not what you say it's where you do it. As for constructive critical articles on the blog, please by all means... Now, let's see if anyone gets it this time. Hahah....Nope.

Tough L. Hofstra will win 25 this year. They are a good squad. Had the game within reach, but too many empty trips late in the game. Before the season started, I expected a spilt between these past two games. UB beat Canisius today at home. Could they be a bit better than we thought?
Looking for a nice rebound win at UB Wednesday.
Go Bonnies.

They know that the students are " off again " on break. Local court side fans MUST play a 6th man role for the Bonnies to win. Those sitting in the Red seats need to be involved the entire game - PLEASE. Should have been played in Rochester...

Awesome idea pinnum. Maybe we can pick up and move the entire university to Rochester. The hell with 150 years of tradition

Better yet make it a nomadic university. 1 semester of classes in buffalo, 1 in Rochester, the following year in erie/Pittsburgh, then we can have a Semester at sea or something cool. Might help with enrollment! Instead being proud of our house well just live in a tent at your house!!

Game should absolutely have been at Rochester. Why are we forking over a "home" game on March 2 when we can fulfill our Rochester mission during the period when no students are around?

The general feeling is that when IDRIS got hurt there was no one who could really guard GREEN. The radio announcers said GREEN was the Player of the Game, but I think NICHOLS was the Key of the Game. This was true, that GREEN was tough to guard, but another defensive failure was in a very key stretch in the second half when Hofstra tied the game and moved ahead, no one on the BONNIES could contain NICHOLS. NICHOLS got some very key rebounds and put backs along with a sweet move around DION to score when it was really needed for the PRIDE. HOFSTRA has an experienced team and bench and this hurt the BONNIES at times. Early in the game WOODS missed a defensive switch which allowed KOON some wide open looks in the corner, later at the less than 4 minute mark left in the half WOODS picked up his 3rd foul and DION was on the bench with 2. SCHMIDT brought in a very inexperienced GRIFFIN who did the same missed switches and allowed open looks and missed a key layup after a nice offensive rebound. In the second half HOFSTRA's "screen and roll" worked numerous times when blown switches allowed NICHOLS and GUSTES uncontested drives to the basket. I think NELSON KAPUTO will have an excellent career as a BONNIE but yesterday his inexperience showed especially in the second half with some ill advised shots and passes. I understand you cannot predict injuries and Coach SCHMIDT saying he was not going to fill the last ship with someone who would probably be riding the bench for 4 years, but here is a staff that does not follow the national trend in bringing in transfers on a regular basis but surprisingly brought in 2 this year and decides also not to fill the remaining ship with these two sitting out for a year.

No students are around on March 2nd. I know this is a very unpopular opinion but with crowds like last night Buffalo and Rochester games don't sound like a terrible idea when students are off.

The idea that the RC is a tough place for visitors is in serious question. The Bonnies' home ranking on TeamRankings is 206 vs. 142 on neutral courts and #62 away. I have no idea how these ordinal rankings are computed or how they break down to student breaks vs. class in session, but I always dread a home game during the breaks.
