Chinoso Obokah transferring from SU is exactly what Bonas needs. I believe we recruited him out of high school from Bishop Kearney in Rochester. Raw, rebounds, good physical strength. Would provide good depth at center.

I honestly don't care how they'd fit with us, I don't want any Syr transfers. I'm not taking their fallout.

Any feeling on Caleb Joseph, Taquee's old roommate and an SU bench warmer.

Goodluck Okonoboh did not have good luck at UNLV and is transferring. He is 6'9" finishing his sophomore year. Very highly recruited, prepped in New England with hometown listed as Boston. Only played 6 games. verbalcommits.com/players/goodluck-okonoboh

I personally would rather a juco guy who has not gotten the opportunity maybe than a guy who could not cut it for another team. We take what we can get just my two cents.

I would take Obokoh in a second. He may even get his lost year of eligibility reinstated.
I wouldn't expect him to be great, but he has size, talent, and intelligence. I don't see how it would hurt. We would still have another scholarship available for a JUCO or whatever. I want to get the best players possible. I could care less if they played at Syracuse or JCC-Cattaraugus.
Speaking of which, does Charles Perry still have eligibility?
Seriously, though, I expect the coaches to at least inquire about Obokoh.

You bring up the name Charles Perry, in the late 90's we had what looked on paper as a fantastic recruiting class......I have trouble remembering the names but Charles Perry and Leandro Paladino (from Argentina) were 2 of the 4 names. Perry never even got started, and Paladino went pro in his native Argentina to provide money for his family. Can anyone name who the others in that recruiting class was?

I wonder if we are still involved with Emmitt Holt 6'8" 240lbs. . If you remember he visted last fall and elected to go JUCO at Indian Hills CC. Had a solid year. In 21 minutes per game he averaged 12pts, 7 rebounds and shot 70% from the field on a team that went 29-5 but lost in 1st round of the NJCAA tournament. You think he would fit in nicely at Bona? For those scoring at home, the last guy we got from Indian Hills was named Marcus Posely.

bub....Holt visited early Sept & decided the next day to attend Indian Hills CC. I think he would have played here IF he was eligible right away. With that not being the case he headed to JUCO with the plan of going to a big school. Just prior to injuring his ankle late in early Feb, his AD expressed the opinion that he was arguably the best in the Region. Coming back after sitting 3 games he was not a difference maker causing Indian Hills to get knocked out early in post season.
His greatest strength is scoring in the paint (69% FGs. He was 71 % at one time, #2 in the nation). I was sure he would go big BUT he was selected SECOND team in the Region. Not what he expected but is still getting looks by some big boys.
In 28 games he grabbed 6.4 rebs, 71% FTS with 35 blocks (#35)
