Just thought I would take my final look at the transfer list (go to the first page of this thread if you want to see all the names. I was looking at familiar names.....Sam Dingba was one of my favorites who came from Camaroon (basically shoeless) went to Salisbury (a prep in CT) then to Quinnipiac and now Vermont. www.verbalcommits.com/players/samuel-dingbaRaquan Mitchell who I think we were interested in from Memphis to South Plains (JC) www.verbalcommits.com/players/raquan-mitchellQuadree Smith from Providence to not yet determined (don't know how valid this is as Tyson also is listed without a destination). www.verbalcommits.com/players/quadree-smith

We have 13 on scholarship, therefore no rides are available. Just listed those names as at one point we were interested in them, and for those that follow our recruiting it is interesting to see what happens to those we missed on or those who missed on us.

I thought I had looked at the transfer list for the last time, but looked at it again today, and of course Derrick's name is now on the list. Along with 695 others. Johnny Zappardo still hasn't found a home....and there are a few other immediately eligible transfers. www.verbalcommits.com/transfers/2016

Bola Olaniyan could grab several of the rebounds, but another article suggests he's close to a decision.

There are 11 players on the transfer list in the 6’8” PF range available to play IMMEDIATELY. We had offered Johnny Zuppardo (6’8/226) out of St Stanislaus prep. Following prep school he was at Ark State, S Miss, Jones County JC and Miss St where he played 11.5 mpg, shot 41% FGs, 37% treys & 2.2 rebs last season. That’s after sitting out a season due to tearing his meniscus & ACL in his left knee. At Jones CC he led them to a Nat’l Ship on 15.2 ppg, 64% FGs, 43% TREYS and 7 rebs. He has a real good shot from everywhere with a quick release . Inside scoring comes from very good foot work not elevation. Having sat out 2 seasons, one for transfer rules & one for injury, he turns 24 next month. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhFZzEbzGRA From his play at Jones CC 3 years ago. With Woods’ departure, odds of filling his loss for the Fall is not good but I expect staff to explore all possibilities.

Zuppardo played against us in his freshman year (2011/12) at Arkansas State...they beat us at the RC, a game that really got the fans upset. AN scored 6 points in the game, and our team certainly did not look the part of an NCAA team. static.psbin.com/9/g/l3i5fpdv40vete/120111.pdf

Woods will be missed. At this late stage, IF we are looking for a replacement for the Fall, Bola Olaniyar maybe the best match for us from the very short list of 2016 transfers available to play immediately. At 6'7" he is an excellent rebounder who is efficient on the offensive end. At Southern Illinois he played 24 mpg grabbing 9 boards while scoring 8 ppg on 57% shooting. He was the #1 shot blocker in JUCO but did not display that skill at S Illi. His announced short list is Iona, UNLV, Georgia Tech, San Diego & Charlotte. As a frosh. He continues to get better. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX4aL4UMFSY
