Do we have any more of those A10 vs. ACC games left from the Barclay’s Center agreement?

Playing BC does NOTHING for us. Its worse than playing many of the teams we already schedule. BC is terrible.

The fact that their basketball team has been poor the past few years doesn't enter into it when you are talking about trying to raise St. Bona's recognition factor. Which is what we are discussing. BC is followed throughout New England and is a member of the ACC. It would be a good addition to the schedule imo. I know it wouldn't have helped the RPI last year, but a power conference win would have. .

BC is followed throughout New England in the sense that when college sports are discussed, its usually BC.
However, college sports are rarely discussed in New England.

I know this is a basketball message board, but if no one knows what St. Bonaventure is, and then the school closes and the team doesn't exist, every point made on this board is moot.

I follow college basketball very closely and I cant tell you who played BC in the non conference this year. Why? Because they suck. They historically sucked this year and havent been good since Skinner was canned. They wont help us get to the NCAA, which is the best way to raise name recognition.

BC is nowhere near good. It doesnt help the SOS to have BC on it.

I mostly agree with you except for the NCAA part. Its obvious the selection committee doesn't have a clue so name recognition might actually be important to them.

BC has little name recognition left. To the extent that it does, it is as a joke. BC isn't even followed in Boston to any great extent (unless you're talking hockey, in which case BC, BU, Harvard, et. al. are still news).
Could this change? Possibly, but that will be years down the road, if ever.
And god forbid if Bona laid and egg and actually lost to those guys which is always possible on the road.

If you've been to Conte, you're in a decided minority of Bostonians.

I just find it funny, and somewhat ironic, that BC's last good coach, came from the A10 (URI).. It just infuriates me that the A10 doesn't get the respect that it once did.. Sorry for this comment out of left field..

I used to live in Conn. and still have family up there, and in Boston. And its true that now-a-days college basketball isn't followed as much as it used to be! Back in the '90's, that area was def into college basketball, with having Camby at UMass, Rhody with the Elite-8 run, then Odom (for better or worse), and the Providence team with God Shammgod. .. And you could even say UConn still has a huge following.. BC used to have a following as well, but that has fallen off a lot.. But lately, you're right, its not quite the same.. And i do visit Boston most summers, and see family up there, so I'm still in the "loop".. And I'm not sure about UMass, but Rhode Islands attendance at games is somewhat embarrassing these days, even last yr, unless it was a Top-25 School visiting, not many "fans" showed up..

Not sure if he's been mentioned on here or not, yet...haven't seen anything. From updated immediately eligible transfer list from Goodman/ESPN
LaRon Smith, 6-8, C, Jr., Bethune Cookman -- considering Charlotte, UNC Wilmington, Kansas State, UNLV, St. Bonaventure, Cal State Bakersfield, Fordham
