Liked Simms, loved Kenic, but I'll go back to the premise that both are quality players. I am hopeful that Chief and Gueye can get to campus to continue to work on their games, and to get to know their teammates, also so myself and fellow posters can hear about their games. While it's disappointing to miss out on these kids, you have to give coach the benefit of the doubt, if there is a player out there they will find him. I'm banking on that kid being out there that even at this date can be a difference maker with the '17-18 edition. It's part of the "fun" of checking on bandwagon site.

Wrap this kid up and call it a heckuva signing season fall/spring!
Juco kid seems in similar mold of Cumberbatch - a 2G/SF with length - more than willing to go after rebounds and defend
6'7 2G/SF...value add as option 3 and insurance if SF Courtney Stockard does not recover from foot injury again
Avg 11pts 7 rebs and decent 39% from 3pt....his team spread the scoring around
Naradain James, a transfer from Northeastern, averaged 11.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 47 percent from the field. He finished 10th in the conference on the boards.
Out of high school in Ohio 2015
Congrats to 6'7 Guard Naradian James from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Ohio for signing his National Letter of Intent! Naradian is an explosive scorer with unlimited range! As a Senior he averaged 20 Ppg & 10 Rpg and was named league MVP! Naradian was heavily recruited as a wide receiver too! He will be an impact player! Naradain's length & athleticism had him make 1.3 blocks a game. He was honorable mention All Jayhawk conference.

Agree with all that s been said about nadarain James, his game appears to be a little bit lime Chief s. That being said you can t have too many guys who can create and shoot other than Morley and jaylen. I still would like to seeebongbodin visit. I would take either one of these guys. From what I can gather on the Illinois site, ebongbodin is not a done deal. They ve got many holes to fill. Pitt apparently has interest in ebongbodin as well. The attraction of ebongbodin is potential, rebounding, shot blocker. So much depends on the health of lkpeze and gueye. From various boards, there are still players out there.

mnbonnie - is there a specific health issue with either Amandi or queue you are aware of, or was that just a general observation?

ceharv, nothing that s not been shared on the board before. Somebody had mentioned from gueye s Kilgore career, he had missed sometime with a back issue. So this is just me saying two bigs is not a lot of margin for error. I know that some folks would count josh as a big, and I would love to see him grow into more of a role there. This may be a case of paying Peter to save Paul. A big vs insurance/third score rear insurance. I keep mentioning ebongbodin, maybe we re not even on his radar. I go back to the amount of traffic still on a lot of the fan boards and think maybe there is kid out there the staff connects with "late" they see the situation at Bonas, proven record of developing players a chance to earn minutes on a top 25 team and yells. Let s not forget that Chief, got to learn to spell that young man shame, gueye and poseur are a really strong group of of players we are adding. I think in the end it's about a maxi, josh and Tariq making significant strides and being significant contributors THIS season.

Ikpeze and Gueye is probably combo at the 4/5 that we'll see the least of this season. Ayeni will be the primary guy at the 4 with one of those two at the 5.
We also shouldn't forget Griffin. He's going to be a part of the rotation at both forward spots and I'm looking forward to seeing his development this season.
Having another big would be helpful, but if we sign another recruit, it should be the best player available.

mnbonnie....Some time ago I indicated that Ndene Gueye tweeked his back during the season. He missed games on Feb 15 & 18th as a result. The only games he missed all season. His back was not a chronic issue.
His stats have been posted but here they are again 27 games played, 15 ppg, 64% FGs (2nd in conference), 68% FTs (#8 getting to line), 8.4 rebs but 9.1 rebs in conference play (#4 in conf). These are good #s playing 21 mpg. He played better in conference games.
Last season Josh, Amadi & Chino all had issues fouling. Chino was the worst in this regard followed by Amadi & then Josh. Toward the end of the season Josh began fouling less & started to show signs of finishing inside. Amadi showed some offense but his fouling woes continued.
Ndene stays out of foul trouble and can finish inside. He will love getting fed from the conference's best playmaker. He has been working hard on campus the last several weeks. Coach Fiske will have him a lot stronger come fall.

wgt ,great report and clarication on gueye s just missing a couple of games with a back issue. Love to hear he is on campus. The pa guy at Kilgore cited gueye as the toughest kids he s seen in 20 years. Up here inMN the gophers added a jc transfer last, a big that literally helped them turn their season around. While it won t just be about gueye, his game will make everybody better. I am hopeful that Chief can likewise get to campus, and be ready to go in the fall as well. I still think their is a guy out there for us.

So where will Walsh's Travien Kemp '17 land in this years class. He is a very rare talent as a pure shooter. Maybe a year at a prep school? Love to see this kid on our roster eventually. I know he needs to bulk up. An All WNY First Team player.
I believe that he is WNY's all time scoring leader.

Tavien Kemp (Archbishop Walsh, Olean, NY) will attend Hotchkiss in September as a post-graduate. This is a great match, as Tavien's exceptional basketball talent, knowledge and leadership skills made him the player coach Talhaouie "had to have" to lead his young team next year. Those traits also resulted in one of the best financial aid packages you'll ever see. even from one of the very top prep school institutions.
Tavien and his dad, JR, made a major commitment to themselves last August when they decided that a PG year made the most sense, and they stuck with their plan even though they knew there was no guarantee of finding a prep school at a price they could afford. Knowing he would have to get even better grades and play at a scholarship level to reach his prep school goals, Tavien handled the pressure and accomplished both. He was named player of the year in his league (despite being constantly being double and even triple teamed) and got by far the best grades of his high school career.
Berkshire was Tavien's other finalist, and he loved coach Davis, but as the Kemps educated themselves throughout the process, they recognized Hotchkiss as a life changing place they couldn't say no to.
