So where will Walsh's Travien Kemp '17 land in this years class. He is a very rare talent as a pure shooter. Maybe a year at a prep school? Love to see this kid on our roster eventually. I know he needs to bulk up. An All WNY First Team player. I believe that he is WNY's all time scoring leader. Dom Welch became the all time scoring leader in WNY this past season.

Interesting that he is following Mike Hopkins to UW, and not Archie Miller to Indy.

looking at the hoosier's roster 2017-18...16 players including 4 frosh for the upcoming season...perhaps no room at the inn for carter. i think miller will awake the sleeping giant that IU is.

Discovered some of this on BONNIES_FAN TWITTER and the IONA board: A tweet by Matthew Steinbrink who cover Pitt basketball claims 6'7" SAMSON GEORGE from First Loves prep will be visiting Pitt this weekend and is down to them and ST. BONAVENTURE. SAMSON's former RENS/First Love Christian teammate and fellow Nigerian, and former Park School of Buffalo NY student, CHRIS EFRETUEL(whom I want to be a BONNIE in the worst way) just visited Pitt. SAMSON originally committed to IONA but did not sign his NLI so I imagine is immediately eligible.

Some interesting comments, including:
Quote Very strange. If it's true that he left Iona, can guarantee that he wasn't run off because of a talent issue. His ability and skills were by far among the best on the current roster.

Iona’s incoming class has three four-year transfers and one junior college transfer. Latest was Isiah Still a 6'6" NEC All Conference from Robert Morris.

This is a confusing scenario regarding George. He committed to Iona in October 2016. Supposedly enrolled and took classes during the 2nd semester. Samson George's basketball coach Kahyree Wilson explains it in attached article. “Samson is a 2017 prospect. He played for us for the last two years. He was an early graduate and enrolled at Iona in January. He redshirted there then he ran into a situation with this amateurism,” said Coach Wilson. “His amateurism didn’t come back because he was Nigeria. Whenever they were investigating his amateurism, Iona decided to release him from his scholarship. Once we got that news I reached out to a couple coaches, one of which was (Pitt assistant) Sam Ferry because he was recruiting Samson hard at Monmouth. A week later, the NCAA cleared Sam’s amateurism and he received his release from Iona. Once he received all of the clearances, Pitt contacted us.” pittsburghsportsnow.com/2017/06/22/rugged-2017-power-forward-samson-george-visit-pitt/

Samson George has an impressive list of offers. His coach Khayree Wilson stated "he had scholarship offers from Oregon State, USC, Monmouth, VCU, Iona, so he was heavily recruited." According to Verbal Commits George also received an offer from Rutgers. With Pitt included George received 4 offers from Power 5 schools. Coach Wilson was asked to elaborate more on George’s strengths as a player. He stated, “Sam is a stretch four that’s very aggressive and runs the floor well. He controls the glass very well and he’s a finisher. Sam has a grit and toughness that will remind you of the players Pitt had back in their Big East days.” “Sam is a great, great kid. He’s a very humble young man from a great family. He’s a hard worker as well. I don’t know how much weight he gained at Iona. He spent some time in their weight room. When he was here, he was built like a brick. He’s strong young man.” pittsburghsportsnow.com/2017/06/22/rugged-2017-power-forward-samson-george-visit-pitt/www.verbalcommits.com/players/samson-george

being a bona basketball junkie, always good to get another fix. I was pulling for Nadarain James, who surfaced a couple of weeks ago, who would seem to bring more of a scoring boost, third scorer, insurance for Courtney, if he can't go. My initial take on Samson was do we need another 6'6"/6'7" athletic wing, but as the coach's remarks attest, Samson is more of a power forward, rebounder, tough kid, appears to be the type of young man that can go up and get the ball. Seemingly a nice compliment to Josh and would give coach more flexibility in his line ups/rotation. IMO always good to have four bigs, who all could do something a little different. The thing that I've heard about Gueye and also Rodriguez, who we didn't get, was the toughness. So I guess it comes down to a choice for Samson, we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed. Does anyone know if Samson has been on campus? I was wondering if coach Lee has any relationship with Sampson, it sounded like his AAU team was in the New York/New Jersey area and a Pitt coach with a Monmoth connection is apparently recruiting him hard for Pitt.
Lastly love the reports on players progress this summer, both in house and Bonabandwagon observers.

Samson transferred from St Patrick to St Anthony in 2015-16. And then onto First Love prep.
