We're up to 36 offers for 2017 now. That's second most in the A-10 with VCU at 40. Duquesne has 34, 6 others are over 20. Davidson has made 6 offers.
Richmond is one of the six over 20 offers with 22. They have 25 offers out for 2018, as they are replacing 6 current juniors.

A few more offers, and we can start up both a JV and Varsity team.
Question - Do any D1 schools still have JV teams?

A few more offers, and we can start up both a JV and Varsity team. Question - Do any D1 schools still have JV teams? The military academies do, though they call them "developmental" teams. The academies are not limited in the number of scholarships they offer (as all students have "rides") and usually have upwards of 25 players. In 2014-15, for example, Navy had 19 players on its "varsity" basketball roster and another 13 on its developmental team. While the academies are handicapped by who they can go after and who is willing to accept the associated service requirements, this roster situation does give them somewhat of an advantage over some lower level DI teams.

Also, UNC has a JV team for reasons unknown to me. The players are all non-scholarship and to the best of my knowledge never "graduate" to the varsity as they sometimes do at the military academies. I think some Ivy League schools might have JV teams as well, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I think some Ivy League schools might have JV teams as well, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. The North Carolina JV team plays at Dean Smith Arena a couple hours before the "varsity" Heels play their games. They play mostly junior colleges or prep schools. They are coached on a rotational basis by the assistants on the "varsity" team. Roy Williams coached them for many years when he was an assistant. no scholarships, very competitive though for walk-ons. now I don't know this for a fact or anything but it seems to me like they could and maybe do use that for some back door shady recruiting, seeing as how they play junior colleges and prep schools. Suppose you are looking at a kid as a recruit? schedule your JV team to play them and they play a game inside your arena with guys wearing carolina jerseys and your assistants just up the bench. then they stay and watch the "varsity" game after. almost like an unofficial visit on steroids. We all know North Carolina would never be involved in any shady recruiting practices though.. what was I thinking
