Marcus Santos-Silva final eight: VCU, Boston College, Temple, Bradley, Kansas St, St Bonaventure, Duquesne and LaSalle, per @vtacademyhoops
He is a 6'7 265lb low post player with mid to high major offers
Recent Peach jam
Marcus Santos-Silva | BABC
Peach Jam Stats: 15.8 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 2.6 APG
As the leader on a team that is always a threat to make a deep run at Peach Jam, Santos-Silva did not disappoint, as he was the reliable, walking double-double we have come to know. Despite lacking the usual consistent perimeter shooting around him, the bruising forward made the most of his opportunities, scoring near the rim and in the midrange while using his nose for the ball to chase down loose balls and rebounds alike. The lefty was also a force on the defensive end, where his quickness and strength allowed him to defend a variety of opponents, and shut them all down.

Dominick Welch signing would be along the lines of a Timmy Winn signing - great local talent. III. RECRUITING EM: Shifting a bit to recruiting, can you tell us which schools have offered? DW: Buffalo, Canisius, and Iona EM: Which schools show interest that haven’t yet offered? DW: Louisville, Virginia, Dayton, St. Bonaventure, Iowa, St. Joes. UConn, Davidson, Albany, Fairfield, and a hand full of others. EM: Any visits or team camps lined up in the near future? DW: Louisville soon, and Albany on the 20th of this month (June). EM: What factors are important to you and your family when making your college decision? DW: Just how the school and the program is, and if it’s the fit for me and finding a place where I’m going to play. EM: Do you have a timeline for your decision? DW: Not as of right now. Welch tweeted his final 4 schools are St Bonaventure, Dayton, UB & Hofstra...lets win this one !!! Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=euXVr5d8a8U&feature=youtu.be

Dominick has tremendous hops and finishes well with his off hand when needed. The only question mark on his gaudy #s is the level of competition. However, his smooth athleticism, hops & shooting will make him a scorer at Bona. One thing is sure, non of his other offers will match the love he will get from Bona fans. Last season 29 ppg, 11.5 rebs, 2.9 blocks, 3.7 assists & 2.4 steals. Would be nice to see a multiple year All Western NY player on the Bonnies. www.hudl.com/video/3/3254737/5721c4930dcb0d12f8655923 Mid Season Video 2015-16

I'm really happy how the recruiting process has evolved the past few years. It seemed we would only be able to get recruits that Bonas was their highest offer. Now, we're right in the thick of it with many recruits who have various offers from schools similar to ourselves. I especially like the guys that it seems we have a serious chance at. Kendrick Gray, Marcus Santos-Silva, Walter Whyte, Dominick Welch just to name a few. I'm also seeing on BONNIES FAN twitter page that combo guard Elijah Clarance will be on campus this weekend and SF Tshiefu Ngalakulondi has us in his top 2 and will be visiting September 23rd. It would be fantastic if we were able to land a pair of these guys. With the serious interest from recruits like these, the incoming freshman we've got coming in, and the team we've been putting on the court the past few season, I believe our future is bright!

That video of the Shitu kid (unfortunate name) is impressive - serious offensive skills in a 6'9" kid and yes, I realize it's a highlight vid., but it shows what he is capable of and his stats show the video is not an isolated sampling.

ELijah Clarance has a nice skill set. He's Swedish so it would be fun to see the Flag man bring out that flag for 4 years! Ngalakulondi, from highlights, looks like a Denzell Gregg type of player. He would probably take that torch as the long athletic forward who jumps through the roof

WALTER WHYTE came out with a list of 4 of his 5 official visits and St. Bonaventure was not on it. BTW I stopped down to the RC yesterday and watched ELIJAH CLARANCE scrimmage with the team and was quite impressed with what I saw from him, he would be a very good "get" if the staff can land him.

Any sense whether Clarance could play primarily at the pg spot in college ? Or is he looked at as a combo/2 guard ? He and Welch would make for a athletic backcourt one day.

When they were scrimmaging Saturday, CLARANCE was always on JAYLEN's team and CLARANCE always seemed to be playing the point but he seems to have a pretty good stroke from behind the arc and has the size and athleticism to play the 2.
