I guess these kids just don't get it. They must have no idea what the Reilly Center is all about or how it used to be... in very recent history. These people were STIFFS for 40 minutes tonight and I can finally say I'm disgusted. If a nail-biting, back-and-forth Atlantic 10 game can't get these kids into the game, then maybe they should just go back to their bongs and "Family Guy: Season 5" DVDs at Rob-Fal. Disgraceful on all levels tonight. Also, I don't want to hear ONE response putting this on the red seats. I am not always pleased with the enthusiasm in the reds, but it isn't their job to make the Reilly a tough venue for visiting teams. This batch of students is soulless.

I noticed that the student section wasn't very loud after the little run of Nicholson dunks Honestly, the last thing I want to do is call out the students, but this has just been ridiculous this season. Throughout tonight's game, there was ONE... ONE (1) "Let's Go Bona's" chant and it took place with about 5 minutes remaining in the game. It's quite sad when chanting "defense" is as much as this group can muster. Pathetic. I remember far inferior teams during the late-80s and early-90s having infinitely more impressive support from the students.

Really dude? We played Fordham. The student section should have not been necessary against a team that sucked this much. However, we underestimated our teams enthusiasm against an easy win. Sorry that the fans are the ones that are suppose to show up and not the players!!!!!!

Sorry that the fans are the ones that are suppose to show up and not the players!!!!!! You're coming up the wrong side of the criticism. The student this season, and I have no idea why, seem to get bored easily and quiet down at the drop of a hat. I think the ad-nauseous ads with Coach Schmidt speak to how much the team needs the fans, and generally the students are the ones to give it to them. Aside from Mississippi State, I can't really think of a game where the students met their potential.

Sorry that the fans are the ones that are suppose to show up and not the players!!!!!! Yes, "dude", really. Who on God's green earth cares if we played Fordham, GW, UMass, Rhode Island, or the man on the moon? Our students were sleep walking for 40 minutes... gosh, it must have been those final exams. Wait, no finals? Oh, it had to have been their mid-terms. Wait, none of those either? Gee, I get it! They just don't understand what this is all about. It's about the SCHOOL, fellas. It's about tradition, pride, and hulking up when the going gets tough... not cowering into blue bleachers with Fat Tony for a quick snack. Also, do you really think I'm implying that the reason we lost is on the students' shoulders? If so, I'm not. I'm merely pointing out that this batch of students has been pathetic all season and it's down right embarrassing. In a conference match up like this, one might have thought there would have been a bit more enthusiasm out of the "Rowdies". Yuck.

And on a side note, I have been here since 2004, and I don't recall us making the A-10 playoffs since they expanded to 14 teams. How are we supposed to get pumped about a school that my freshman year had two wins? Maybe you should come down to the student section and show your enthusiasm. Losing is the only thing that we know.

You just said it all. These kids don't understand the school, the program, or the pride it has instilled in countless alums. How gut wrenching.

Well it is tough when there hasn't been a winning season in years. What do you expect the students to expect?

Even if the student section was horrible, what is the excuse for all of the empty red seats? And I don't think snow should be an excuse!

This is the worst student section I can remember and that's going back to the mid-90s. This includes the year we had two wins. 2011, spare me all the "we haven't seen a winner" BS. You should be happy we have a competitive A-10 team that you can go watch in the middle of the winter when there is nothing better to do. The students are flat out lame and there is no excuse for it. That seven year old Jay Bilas quote should be removed from the media guide asap--because this place is no longer a tough place to play.

I'm a student who is also a huge fan and I agree with you guys that this is a bad student section. It is pretty much lifeless. There are fewer and fewer kids who know what is going on with the resurgence of this team. Students who aren't really into what is going on (75%) just knew that we were losing and that we lost last week. Students like myself who are really into the team were just incredibly frustrated tonight. It was such a huge game in that we could buy our tickets to AC if we won in my opinion, that to be trailing for the majority of the game was just agonizing. All I'm saying is that it is hard for kids that really care to try and get the rest of the kids into the game when increasingly numbers of them just do not care, especially in a frustrating game like tonight's.

We may be lame, but I am sure I didn't hear you tonight. Maybe you should bring your posse down to the student section and show us how it is done. And by "competitive A-10 team" you mean beating teams that are terrible? What team have we beaten this year that was good? I believe the people on this board ripping on the student section are lame. Maybe you should pay more attention to whom we recruit so the students have someone good to cheer for!

I think the thing that upsets me the most about people ripping on the students is, that you have to imagine how many students that attend this campus that don't go to games. There are passionate fans that always show up, but people continually rip on them for not being loud. How are they suppose to get people to go to games unless the team is good? Everyone always talks about that in the "glory days" that getting into the gym was impossible. If we had that many people in the gym I imagine we could make it pretty loud, but until then give the students that constantly show up a break. I am a fan of the team, and am just trying to stick up for the students that support the team.

It's just that there are so many kids who do not care and will only come if it's what everyone else is doing or something like that. It's embarrassing for some of us who care a ton to get called a disgrace just because we can't get people who we don't even know to go to the games. I've been to all but one game this year including when I was in Buffalo over break. Just give it some time for us to put together some home wins this or in the next couple years and students just looking to have fun will start piling in, and the kids who are there now and don't care that much will start getting into the game more. The students are liable, but like it was noted, if the team was even as close to as good as they were in the late 90's etc. (not ripping on the team there) then I'm sure it would be loud.
