OK, Bonafide. Are you willing to back up your talk with money? I (as well as most everyone else on this board I'm guessing) am willing to bet you on the over. You name the price.

Swede, don't waste your time. Bonafide is probably a 15 yr old looking to start trouble. This time of year there are always a couple of these guys on the board....relax!

Maybe it's the optimist in me but I don't see what you're all whining about. Sure we lost Ahmad, but we'll have a healthy Tyler Relph and a Mike Lee who is set for a great season. It's going to be a different team, that's all. I'm excited by the possibility of playing some big teams in that tourney we're in, I'm hoping we've got some other big names scheduled too. Why don't you all put your crystal balls away. It's a clean slate. Make your complaints as time warrants, not 6 months before the team even hits the floor. Writing the team off now puts us right where we were last season: low attendance because of lack of support from the community. Why don't we take this next 6 months to create a buzz about the team and get people pumped for the next season instead of whining and complaining.

Let's look at the dynamics today in college BBall. The Juco player history at Bona's had a bad history due to the Chapman era when he attempted to build the Bonnies following the DiCarli debacle. Today it is different, the best ballplayers usually leave in less than 4 years (Rudy Gay at UConn announced today), the very best in 1 year. The Bonnies do not get the best or very best, those that we get that will become stars attain that in there Junior/Senior years (ala A Smith or M Lee). The Juco player that wants to come to Bona's is a known quantity (we know what his skills/weaknesses are.....the we being the coaches, not the we who are experts on this board). The net of what I'm attempting to say is that if we are going to get 2 good years from someone, then why not the Juco? I agree that until the recent past is forgotten the way to victory is look for the 4 year "diamond in the rough" and the Juco. I hope and pray that we again can draw the stars.

Wow, simply expressing an opinion sure brings out the worst in some folks on this board it seems. No, I'm not going to bet anything....the same way others don't bet anything on the hundreds of opinions that they express on this board each year. As far as the name calling and flaming are concerned....double wow.
While no one agrees with my opinion/prediction doing so with the hostility that several have expressed has me wondering about their perspectives.

Soloman must produce 12 wins to keep his job in my opinion. He needs to bring in the best talent he can to achieve that. I have concerns about his coaching ability and question his recruiting of JUCOS but I expect this is driven by talent. Most of the JUCOS I can think of have represented the school well. The universities academic standards are not high (based on SATS and % of applicants accepted) so I think these kids probably have put their academics in order. Bonafide is looking to stir the pot with his 3 win prediction. I think we will make the A10 tourney and win 6 league games. Am I satisfied?-NO- but trying to stay positive and somewhat realistic. Maybe one of the players like Lee or Hawkins will blossom into a significant talent or Relph will be the player he was hyped up to be. Let's hope so.

It really is a shame to see the way a lot of the folks react on this board to anything that doesn't match their opinion. Whether it be basketball, or discussing things other than basketball. While all of you are throwing Bonafide to the wolves, to most of us young alumni, Bonafide serves as a reminder that not all of you are bitter old pricks who think that their opinion is the only one that matters.
People have different ways of cheering for their teams. I know I always like to set my expectations low for any team I am a fan of, that way more times than not you will be pleasantly surprised at the next season's outcome. Whatever his intentions may be, Bonafide is obviously a Bonnie fan, so why such a harsh reaction to his opinion? Don't get me wrong, it's ok to disagree but the name calling and suggesting he has life issues is uncalled for. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. And you think fart jokes are bad...I see a bunch of 40-50 year olds on this board that despite their self-proclaimed maturity really need to grow up.

Agree of course with bonafide, and once again blind, unsubstantiated optimism seems to be the benchmark for who is a "true fan" and who is not.
Its funny how many posts in how many threads start with "sure we lost Ahmad....but" as if we graduated a third point guard or something rather than our best player by a mile. Worse yet, our opponants best defenders have now been freed up to guard whatever "Relph-of-the-month" you see coming out of the 2nd tier JUCO ranks to save us.
The fact that we will manage 8-10 wins against garbage, and perhaps one in conference is not anything I'd be proud to win a bet over. The one thing we had to look forward to was youth, and building. Compare talent in with talent out, and remember that the OTHER TEAMS PLAYERS GET BETTER TOO and give me a serious argument why this team is better than this year.
Wake up and smell the MAAC, as if they'd want us in the shape we are in. Without a serious commitment to the program, thats where we are headed

You lose any credibility that you might have coming to Bonafide's defense against attacks when your e-mail itself is laced with attacks on the posters here (as usual). If Bonafide is going to suggest over and over again (like a broken record) the same opinion that we should put out the white flag, put our tails between our legs and move to the MAAC, he should expect strong responses with opinions that differ from his. For a bunch of posters who love to stir the pot you guys are awfully sensitive.

Thanks Cosmo and Orange. Mr. Sneakers...it is not about intentionally stirring the pot, it is about expressing an opinion that may be widely different from that of some of the regulars on this board. That expression shouldn't result in name calling, the suggestion of life issues, etc..
Strong disagreement....fine. Strong abuse.......sucks.

I'm sorry if the big bad posters here hurt your feelings for posting your "different" opinion. However, you intentionally shined the spot light on this absurd opinion, which your initial post admits was posted elsewhere by you (multiple times) yet it "deserves its own thread". Your initial post slams the coach (although you claim elsewhere to be a "huge supporter") and concludes that we should be in the MAAC. Then you are shocked, shocked I tell you, by the strong disagreement. To top it off, your supporter Cosmo comes on calling posters who don't make a habit or rhyming their posts or talking about expelling gas "bitter old pricks" and complains in the same post about alleged name calling.
Unbelievable. You guys should be in politics with your ability to spin the truth.
I hope your feelings heal after all this abuse, and your self-esteem improves.
Peace. Out.

When in this thread did I say anything about rhyming posts? I will admit to being wrong on lumping a large number of posters on this board into the bitter old prick category when it's primarily just you and 3 or 4 others. Congratulations on being a HUGE
