Indeed. Sneakers, you really did start the name calling.
"You have become a one trick pony ("go to the MAAC") just like Fromunga has ("JVBK is a God")." and of course, "OK eeyore. Whatever you say. Have fun rooting against your alma mater."
I find your self-denial troubling and I pity you. BLAU!

Opps, I called someone a "one trick pony" and an "eeyore". How blatantly insensitive of me! I hope your can someday rebuild your broken egos back up to where they once were. Don’t worry recovery is on the way.
BTW, I don't think I need to go through the names that your group have been using as the posters here can read.
Have a great evening boys! You guys make my day.
Peace. Out.

Dear Sneakers....
Well, the whole coaching staff with the exception of Solomon is fleeing. The 2006/7 season will be a total disaster just as I predicted several weeks ago. I'll say it again.......MAAC! And the sooner the better!

Whatever you say Bonafide. I wouldn't want to disagree with you or you might go off the deep end again and call me a prick with martital problems and employment issues, etc., etc. (see page three of this thread).
Nonetheless, I do disagree. I have found in life that those who think negatively make negativity a reality. I'd rather look at this situation as a chance to bring in some additional coaching talent to help keep the program on the path to recovery. Get someone with X&O talent and a good recruiter.
Life is good Bonafide. Relax.
Peace.

Dear Sneakers:
In addition to suggesting that you are a prick and may possibly have profound life problems the item that you are referring to on page 3 of this thread also contained the following request..........
"On another note....would you please check with your colleague Jim Sickstetuh and ask him if Mary Boyle was a student in the early 60's or if in fact she is the stiff buried in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery? I believe uncovering that piece of information would be a small beginning toward redeeming yourself with the Bevelators."
So what on earth did Jim Sickstetuh have to say about all this, Sneakers?

With the risk of throwing you into another hissy fit tantrum, I have to say that I have no idea what you are talking about. I attended Bonas in the 1980's. I was a twinkle in my Father's eye in the early '60's. I've never heard of either of the two individuals you mention, thus I ignored your question.
Remember, those who think small are bound to achieve it.
Peace.

Dear Sneakers:
You see, this then is the problem. It would have been quite enough to civilly relate that you have no knowledge of either Mr. Sickstetuh or Ms. Boyle. But then you proceed to lash out with a jab about this thinking small business. What the heck is that statement all about and why is it even necessary? The repressed anger that causes you to figuratively strike, hit and punch total strangers who are simply attempting to engage you in spirited dialogue about a game should cause you personal concern of the most serious kind. Put another way Sneakers, this is the very stuff of domestic violence abusers and their sorry ilk!
I profoundly hope, Sneakers, that you are simply a bored 14 year old with nothing better to do but to play around on this board. If, in fact, you are the 40-something college graduate that you purport to be I pray like hell that you don't live anyplace real close to other people.

I guess I shouldn't assume that you can connect more than one post at a time. The thinking small reference is related to your constant suggestion that SBU go to the MAAC, and to the suggestion you made today on another thread that we should go to Division 2.
Sorry to be "lash out" and "strike, hit and punch" in such a cruel, cruel way by suggesting that we needn't think small. It's the kind of thing that someone who throws around insults like "Eeyore" or "one trick pony" would say. Naturally I could see how that would bring you to accuse me of domestic abuse. How inhumane of me! I guess I should stay away from all human kind ;-)
Seriously Bonafide, relax a little. The world is not ending because two assistant basketball coaches have left the program. It may end up being a big positive after all is said and done. Even if it is a bit of a setback, we have already been as low as we could possibly get as a program (unless anyone thinks your suggestion of moving to the MAAC or Division 2 is going to happen. Frankly I give the Board of Trustees much more credit than to think that is possible).
Peace.

Moving to the MAAC IS thinking BIG, Sneakers. And I give the Board of Trustees that allowed the University to slide into near-bankruptcy and then hired Wickenheiser and failed to properly supervise him a big fat zero for both competence and credibility. The stink is about ac losing the ENTIRE coaching staff within the last 30 days with the except for Solomon himself. And the recruiting seems pretty erratic to some. Coupled with the previous 3 lousy seasons and serious doubts about Solomon's coaching abilities is it any wonder that folks are apprehensive?
I'm very relaxed Sneakers, because I'm pretty sure what the outcome is going to be.... most probably at the end of this season.

If SBU were in the MAAC, there would have been no tourney in 2000 and forget about the NIT unless we hit 25 wins. I enjoy being in a conference where 20 wins gives a good shot at post-season. The coaching staff leaving should be a step in the right direction according to you. As far as recruiting, Carson didn't announce he was leaving until pretty late, so it makes sense that we have one scholarship still open. The fact is the University didn't go bankrupt, and I will never defend Wick in terms of athletics, he did what was required to get the financial ship headed in the right direction. The Trustees job is not to "supervise". Although they should have stepped in during the Great Debacle, they should not be involved in any day-to-day university activities. No coach-none-could have done any better then Solomon has during his time. While he will need to produce more from here forward, anyone could have predicted how the last three years would have gone before SBU even hired the coach.

Just to stir the pot I bet if we would have hired say Roy Williams, Coach K, Billy Donovan, Bob Huggins, Ben Howland, Bill Self, Tom Izzo, etc... You get the point. Those coaches would have done better, but in all reality we know we would have never gotten one of those coaches. Rob Lanier would have been fired by now anyways. I just wish for all the trouble we went through Jamil Terrell would have been a better basketball player.
