Apparently lurking deer feel that the shrubs are scrumptious and make it a point to regularly scarf them. I'm sure that any replacement will be attractive as well as inedible. Kind of strange deer have not been a problem for the past however many decades the bush signage has been up. This is a small time move....”oh look bill saved $800 this year on landscaping” attaboy Bill. 🙄 I’ll wait to see the new signage until further comment but I don’t share your confidence. I'd suggest waiting to understand what the replacement might be before drawing such a "small time move" conclusion. I'm hearing that the shrubs will be replaced with boxwoods, which the cute little bambis won't eat.

Apparently Sister Duq A'isne was encouraging the deer to scarf the SBU bushes as a means of increasing the herd population to somehow balance off the substantial decrease in the number of students enrolled. Dr. D and the Board have set records for student enrollment so the deer and their SBU fodder are no longer necessary.
