The Ivies will have a very large number of transfers before the '21-'22 season since their archaic rules don't allow 5th year players. There will also be a huge number of grad transfers from every conference since all players get an extra year of eligibility. Before everyone gets over their skis, we only have two open slots now so let's let the staff do the evaluation/recruiting to mix into this group without messing up what should be a very nice run.

I’m not against one of the two being a transfer, as I’m assuming there will be at least one transfer out after this season (there always is these days) - but I would think we should be able to land two relatively high level recruits on selling them a very strong chance at a starting gig in 2022-23 after one year of mostly sitting but learning behind a very talented group of young men.

With both Metcalf and Winston quitting on the team just before or after the start of the season, an immediately available big would be great, but is that realistic at this point? I don’t know but, but one could sure help and there’s minutes available right away. It also makes it imperative we get a transfer who can play right away in the mix for next year, as well as some guys to fill up the sophomore and freshman classes. 2021 recruiting has quickly become much more of a focus, IMO.

At this point, it's strictly conjecture. With the Ivy League canning their season there have been a lot of players opting to transfer. The guy that appears to be on top of everybody's wish list is a grad transfer from Yale, Paul Atkinson, 6'10" 220, who over his Yale career has made himself into quite a player, from not getting much time early on, to situational sub, to role player to co MVP of the Ivy League. As you can imagine everybody wants him. I have to think that our coaching staff is kicking the tires, sometimes it's just being at the right place at the right time. Why not us? Go Bonnies

nothing more than me rubbing two sticks together, but I was reading a Big East piece that noted what we already know, Javonte Brown, the 7 foot freshman from Toronto that left UConn for lack of playing time and Jaylen Butz, who was a fixture as a rebounder/scorer, legit power forward for the Blue Demons for 3 years, who I'm guessing is a grad transfer. Either of these guys would be great plug ins for the Bonnies. I noted that spring classes start Monday, Jan 25th, so the window is open in theory, I would guess that there would be co vid protocols to meet, but hey it's cold and this is Minnesota and I needed a distraction.

JAVONTE BROWN off the board to Texas A&M, however, JON ROTHSTEIN is reporting ST. BONAVENTURE is showing interest (along of a slew of other schools) in Harvard transfer DANILO DJURICIC. DJURICIC is 6-8 from Brampton, Ontario. Has not put up impressive numbers 6 & 4 I believe but was in the Top 5 of all of Canada when graduating high school. Despite his numbers DANILO is a very intelligent player and is both athletic and physical. DANILO would be an excellent get and would thrive in SCHMIDT's system and make his teammates better.

It's a small sample size, but about 15 years ago, a guy not unlike djuricic tramsfered to the U of Minnesota, not much of a rep as a basketball player, but he turned out to be a great addition, rugged rebounder, really smart, heady player. I would think he would be a great add as a grad transfer. It looks like he must have had some overlap with Andrew Nicholson, I think they played on a couple of Canadian National teams. I'm sure Andrew would be a good connection, if there was a real interest in Djuricic.

6'8" DJURICIC is from Brampton. That is where Fabian Nicholson (Drew's dad), God rest his soul, lived. Fabian, with Drew's encouragement, religiously worked out at his local gym where he had contact with top local players. No doubt DANILO followed Drew's success at Bona. He has been exploring the best place to go since the early summer. So he has done his home work and I expect his decision should come sooner than later. He was ranked #8 in Canada for 2017 graduates. 19-20 season. 20mpg, 6.1 ppg, 4.3 rebs, 46% FGs, 36% TREYS, 86% FTs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9P3pbUDCJI At St Micahel's in Toronto

WGT, thanks for the background on Danilo, I also wanted to add that I believe Nelson Kaputo played at St Michael's. I don't know where we stand, whether we have any real chance of getting a commitment from Danilo, but I think he could really help us. Anybody who can shoot 85% from the line is a good shooter, you can see from his video that he's athletic, he's 6'8"and he's physical. He got 20 minutes at Harvard and I think the combination of Adaway/Djuricic as being a win win situation. Danilo would get a shot at playing on a team that making a push for post season play, and he could be a part of that. It may be a reach, but I'm hoping somebody reaches out to Andrew, and that those two might have some type of connection. Fingers crossed.

I'm sure our staff is working to improve the team if the right player can be gotten. Our record and seen on top of the A10 should help our position in pursuing the right player.
