I wonder if we will have any interest in grad transfer Pauly Paulicap. He is a 6'8 220lb power forward from Elmont, NY who recently played at Manhattan. Last season he averaged 10.4ppg, 6.6rpg, and 1.9bpg as a senior. His junior season was derailed by injuries which is counting as his redshirt season but his best season came as a sophomore when he Became just the second player in school history to win MAAC Defensive POTY honors, joining 3x winner Rhamel Brown '14 ... Averaged 10.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg (4th MAAC) and a MAAC-leading 2.5 bpg!!! Previously as a freshman he played at Harcum College.
I think Pauly would be a great fit for us and it still gives us the scholarship back for the next season and hes from NY and what an awesome name. Thoughts?

I just feel like if we can add any grad student player to immediately be eligible for this season makes so much sense especially if it's another big. The next two seasons we should be going all in, I think. OO is an amazing player but if he ever gets hurt we are left with Shaw, Metcalf and Winston and then forcing an undersized Adaway to have to play the 4. A veteran big would give us more insurance, experience and leadership, obviously he has to be willing to except the role. Here is another player who could be an option: 6'9 J.J. Matthews- Arkansas State (just not positive he's eligible right away) astateredwolves.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/j-j-matthews/4700

From Twitter, Pauly Paulicap, 6'8" 220, grad transfer from Manhattan has heard from DePaul, St Bonaventure, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Southern Illinois. Pauly is cross referenced in the recruiting 2020 thread. Started out at Harcum JC in the Philly area, originally from NYC. Great start at Manhattan, was named MIAC defensive player of the year in his second year. Subsequently has had a foot injury that has affected his play, but had a decent year last year 10 ppl and close to 7 reg. there was a piece in the Riverside Press that talked about his early years, that reminds me we all didn't have the same start. www.riverdalepress.com/stories/dark-days-in-early-life-fuels-paulicap,67800 My heart is with Vladir Manuel, but Paulicap, has at least got us on his radar and he would be a good add. Watched some more of Paulicap's tapes, I could not find any of this play this past year. Some fo the footage of his first two years was great, quick leaper, great timing. The question is if the foot is clearly healed and he could reclaim that form we would have Shoon, Shaw and Paulicap to bolster our defense as rim protectors.

We have good reason to have keen interest in PAULY. This article tauts him. Mentions ND & St John's as possibilities & why he and OSUN would be best shot blocking combo in nation. bustingbrackets.com/2020/07/05/ncaa-basketball-6-teams-target-manhattan-transfer-pauly-paulicap/Kevin Ross is the Dir of Sports Communication at MC and a Bona 03 grad. I typically attend 1 game a year at Draddy & always talk with Kevin who still bleeds Brown & White in spite of his years at Wagner & MC last 7 years. No doubt Kevin is filling PAULI's ear with how great Bona basketball is. I see no downside to adding PAULI for 1 year.

Clearly Pauli has talent. The idea of Pauli opting to join the Bonnies is pretty exciting. Shoon, Shaw and Paulicap would give coach Schmidt the opportunity to have a rested, legit shot blocker for the entire 40 minutes. I think Paulicaps addition would allow coach to go up tempo for the whole game if he should chose to do so. Tough competition for Pauli s services. Hopefully we could get a nod from Rose, the Jasper s Sid. The only thing I couldn t figure out from the article is how we would be his “hometown” team.

The A10 tournament week in Brooklyn allows us to be a bit of a 'home town' pick for the NY/NJ kids - you see many of the players families at the Barclay for the games

Pauly graduated Manhattan as a Psychology major. A Masters at Bona in school counseling would be a perfect fit. Looks like he will now take his time as his list of interested schools has grown.

Terps Hoops Insider Retweeted Jordan Gold @jordan_Gold0 · 7h Manhattan grad-transfer Pauly Paulicap tells me Memphis, New Mexico, Lamar and FIU are the latest schools to reach out to him among others.
He told me he is taking the transfer process slow, but should have a top five list of schools at some point this week.

At this point, about a week away from players coming back to campus, so many things "up in the air" will we play a non conference schedule, will be delay the start until January...... that being said, this is also a buyers market IMO. I was looking at the portal and it's been whittled down significantly, but as a for example there is a red shirt freshmen that went into the portal yesterday, Javari Davis, 6'9", 268 from Alabama, he started 14 games as a freshmen, with Alabama's recent adds, it appears to be a situation where Javari sees folks jumping ahead of him, just my guess. So he's a very late add to the portal, a lot of teams are tapped out scholarship wise. We don't have a connection, but with one scholarship we are a player. He sits one and plays three, so something could kick loose this late in the process. I think Isaiah Brockington comes to mind. We are still waiting to hear on Pauli Paulicap, I have not seen anything about Vladir Manuel signing anywhere yet, sometimes it just being at the right place at the right time.

Pauli’s highlight vid is impressive, as are most highlight vids, thus the name. But his stats show he’s for real if the foot is OK. Getting him on board would lighten the pressure on Shaw to develop quickly and would certainly bolster the 5, something needed in even a shortened season. We always wonder if Mark’s going to use that 13th scholly, and the interest in Pauli shows he is open to doing so. I think that’s a positive because like so many others here, I think we ought to be all-in on these next two years.

That's a fairly random group of schools.

That's a fairly random group of schools. Right? Exactly my thoughts once I saw the list.
